With the exception of shuttle buses at airports, the last time I used a bus would be 1982.

11 years ago going to university when my car got wrote off.

Day 1: pressured into loosing a quid to a junkie at the bus stop while waiting..

Day 2: old man fell a sleep on shoulder

Day 5: refused onto bus because I kept trying to use my original "anytime" return from day 1 lol got away with it for a week, had to get uni pal to drive me home. Never been on since.

I take a bus once or twice a year after dropping the car off for an MOT or to be fixed.

Bus stop right out side the garage and then a stop at the end of my street so it's handy. Being on the bus and not having to concentrate on driving and being higher up i notice quite a few drivers are using mobile phones.

Occasionally from the staff car park to Manchester Airport, unless the weather is dreadful I prefer to walk though.
Which car park?

From the old staff west i'd prefer the walk. But now from staff East it's a good half hour walk, with buses every 10mins the walk makes no sense.
Staff East. I like to walk, and the buses aren't every ten minutes when I'm getting on them, I start at half two in the afternoon, and finish at half two in the morning.

I’ve been on 3 buses today!

Although 2 were at airports so not really public transport. In big cities I use them regularly as I like drinking but am too cheap to pay for a taxi. I gave up on the bus to the small village I grew up in as it’s expensive, slow and unreliable.

I use them quite a lot. I’ve got a bus which leaves from right outside my house, and stops right outside an O’Neill’s and a Wetherspoons in my closest town. So it’s pretty much a beer taxi, but it costs a lot less than an Uber.
Same here every week. The bus stop is opposite the pub and my stop is at the bottom of my road.

Goodwood Festival of Speed has a shuttle bus running from there to Chichester station which I have used

About 2 weeks ago when I got my car repaired following a pheasant attack. Honestly it was as bad as I thought it would be. The bus was 10 minutes late, it was freezing. When the bus arrived I immediately realised it stunk, and a single ticket to the next town cost £4.80, then I realised at 6f3 I realised legroom was not very generous, luckily the bus was quiet so I could spread out a bit. I was not impressed at all. Luckily I got a lift to pick my car up.

Even though I've been on them loads of times, I still get a little bit of childish excitement getting on a 'new' Routemaster. redface

Year before last. To get to a van hire depot to pick up a vehicle. Had used that bus a couple of years before for the same purpose, and the route it went had a stop which was only a short walk to the hire place. Checked online for timetable, checked map of route and stops, both ok.

Bus arrived on time, got on to be faced with looks from the passengers pretty much the same you get when walking into a strange bar in Hicksville "ooh stranger" I'm almost sure there was a rendition of Duelling Banjos.

Bus set off on designated route, clearly the regulars had their own undeclared stops for mounting and alighting. "Ooh Gladys is a bit late this morning." came the mutterings when the bus stopped at some random place and just sat there until some character dressed in a head scarf and winter coat came tottering out in 28C heat. Which at this stage I don't have any great issue with, it's a good service point.

Suddenly bus makes a right turn at some lights and heads off in a totally unexpected direction. Where are we going now, clearly not via the new Aldi, at least it's heading vaguely towards the road that the car hire place is on, but the wrong end of it, a good mile away. So get up and speak to driver asking where the next stop is, which turns out to be another half mile on top of that first mile but in the wrong direction. "Where do you want to go pal?"
Answer "the other end of Wossname road to where you are heading, you're supposed to go all the way down from the big roundabout"
"Not done that for ages, pal"
"So why does your route map still show that you do?"
"Dunno about that, next stop is after the island by MaccyD's. Can't let you off before then."
"You mean unlike all the other unauthorised stops?"
"Ah well regulars."

They're now losing the franchise, good fecking riddance, pile of crap smokey rattle traps.

/rant. Not enough swearing. I know.

I was on the beer taxi an hour or so again. It’s preferable to trying to ride or drive today, given the weather, and it means I can have a few beers watching the footy on a large screen, in the O’Neil l’s. As soon as I’m done, it’s a case of crossing the road, and getting the return beer taxi to right outside my door, result.

Last autumn, a limited stop doubledecker into Sheffield with leather seats and Wi-Fi; very comfortable, convenient and cheap.

The bus from chi station to the FOS, and revival saves a whole load of time as well. They get routed on the ‘closed’ roads, and through the grounds, to cut out the queues ( for the revival ).

About 11 years ago, after dropping a motorbike off for a service, and new tyres.

That was before my wife passed her driving test.

On Thursday February 13, I had a text from my GP to tell me that I was due for a blood test, and to pick up the form at reception, and go to Guy’s Hospital, London SE1.
I walked over to the surgery, then took a 381 bus to London Bridge and walked to Guy’s.
I was in and out in 10 minutes and caught a 47 bus back home.
When I got my Freedom Pass at 60, giving me free bus and tube travel, I quit driving virtually completely, and walk if the weather’s good, or jump on a bus.
