Only a handful of times in the past decade I'd say (in the UK anyway) - mainly the Park & Ride that several towns have, purely out of convenience - Shrewsbury, Portsmouth, Stratford-upon-Avon..

If I'm abroad on a city break I'll often use buses, trams, metro etc a lot of the time.

Apart from airport shuttles I do not recall being on on a bus in about 40 years. Plenty of trains and subways though.

The good things about trains and tubes where I live is their speed and, usually, frequency.

If I miss one tube in the morning, the next one is there in minutes. And they get me to my destination in the est End or City pretty quickly.

The overland trains are less frequent (every 15 or 20 mins) but as they have far fewer stops and go faster they're even quicker. Hampstead is 3 stop and 10 mins away. Farringdon or City Thamselink

The equivalent bus journey would take an eternity. They slowed right down when they got rid of the conductors. They spend a lot of time sitting at stops waiting for people to pay.

I seem to remember Boris promising to bring back conductors when the new Routemasters came out but nothing ever happened.

I work from home, my wife works in the centre of Norwich and drives in every day, if I'm meeting her after work for food/cinema/whatever then I have 3 options:
1) drive - have to pay £5 for parking and neither of us can have a drink
2) taxi - £11
3) bus - £3

So it's the bus as I'm a cheapskate biggrin If it were the other way around my wife would get a taxi as she doesn't do buses...
Quoting myself from almost a year ago and how things have changed! My wife now works from home so if we go into the city (well, back when things were open) we would generally just drive in.
Haven't caught a bus since lockdown, don't think I've got a taxi anywhere either.

In the UK, no. I won't go on a bus, not due to any particular dislike of them as a mode of transport, just because of feral scotes.

I'll happily use them overseas - last time I used one was in Puerto Banus one year ago yesterday, to be precise.

Haven't been on a bus for the past year, I'd rather walk half an hour than get a bus ten minutes.

Looking at buses in London when they pass by they all seem to now to be empty apart from at rush hour (where they have a full poster on the windscreen and so don't stop),
I've also noticed the windows are shut due to the cold which must make it it very unsafe (you can see all the condensation on the windows which is likely full of covid).

I wonder how long TFL will run the services at the current levels as it just seems a massive waste and should reduce the frequency, especially on trains where you get a whole train with less than a dozen people using it and they run four times an hour.

Last time I paid to be on a Bus was in December 2006.
Took a National Express from Stoke on Trent to Hannover, Germany to visit the Christmas Markets.
Markets were great, bus ride to and return were horrible.

Last time I went on a bus was a shuttle from Regional to International Departures at Mumbai Airport. That was also bloody horrible.

London buses don't spend time waiting for people to pay as they haven't taken cash for some years - only cards and passes nowadays.

You see hardly any scrotes on buses, they all get taxis.
