At the time of construction, the facade cladding on the new parliamentary building for MP’s cost the same as if it was clad with BMW 7 series cars

And maybe more a tip than fact: the cap on a tube of tomato concentrate is designed to be unscrewed and top used to cleanly pierce the foil without any mess

France's longest land border is with Brazil.
Eh?
Mainland France's longest border is with Spain, at 408 miles, but French Guiana, a French overseas territory, has a border with Brazil measuring 450 miles.
For the same reason, whilst Russia holds the record for the most time zones covered by a single contiguous plans mass at eleven, France holds the record for the most time zones covered by a single country with twelve.

The owner of Segway died whilst riding a Segway. IIRC he tried to give way to a dog walker on a mountain pass and went over the edge.

The founder of match.com’s girlfriend left him for someone she met on the site. But he got to see that the site work.
Not a mountain pass but by the river Wharfe in Yorkshire.

Killer whales are not whales, they’re dolphins and the name we give them is a mistranslation of the Spanish ‘whale killer’.

Sharks teeth envolved from their skin, and the jaws from their ribs.

A great white shark doesn’t have a swim bladder, it’s buoyancy comes from its liver (full of oil) which makes up about 1/3 of its body.

If a shark stops moving, it drowns.

Ford accepted criticism of the Capri's unsatisfactorily vague gearchange and made the necessary modifications. They made the gearstick two inches shorter.

Are you sure 101 isn't written one hundred and one in English speaking countries outside the UK other than the USA?
The 'fact' was told by an American friend, so no, I can't be 100%.
Go across the Channel and twenty one is written vingt et un wink

Unless you live in the United Kingdom where it's proper to write 101 as one hundred and one, there is no number from 1 to 999 that includes the letter "a" in its word form. One, two, three, four, five, six… twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty. You can keep going, but you won't find the first letter of the alphabet until you hit one thousAnd.

But they shouldn't be denied the opportunity to try. Many believe they should be encouraged to practice as often as possible. It could, for example, fill the time between pulling pints.

Unless they are Australian* - then it’s 1st August (*or anywhere else in the Southern Hemisphere)
