You don't need to show a card or evidence, just clearly state you have one when asked.
Where do I get the card?
You don't need one, but the government provides a template to use on your phone or otherwise.

And just to be clear, if you can wear a mask you should wear a mask. And you should wear it properly.

I am aware of cases locally where supermarket staff have bullied vulnerable people and told them they can't shop there without a mask. That's not the law for people who self-declare a medical exemption. Some Supermarkets require evidence before providing a sunflower lanyard which is their unseen-disability flag, but again this is unnecessary for face coverings and a seperate issue entirely.

Try and make the best of it.
If the infection rate doesn't come down the pubs and restaurants will simply be closed down again.
Nah
I’ll do without. All that st is too much of a nonsense for me
This.

Already migrated my lifestyle to avoid shops, and frankly finding it more fun learning to cook at home so now restaurants and pubs as well.

Keep making things difficult with no perceptible gain, people will simply stop going.

Shame, I thought I was helping to keep a few local boozers open in these tough times by clarifying the rules. Seems there's a few selfish brats unable to compromise.

Yup and many others in same boat that I’ve met for meals and drinks. 2200 closing, servers shouting masks, not being able to get a drink. We are just going to sit it out with perhaps the occasional meal out as you can get a bottle of wine without having to worry about some insta idiot paying attention that you might want a drink during your £60-100 quid meal

Have planned beer and curry with a pal for tomorrow night. Between work (him) and gym (me) we won't get to the pub until 7pm.The curry house presumably will need to be chucking us out around 9.45pm...

10pm closing sounds fine to withered old gits who would rather be at home, but I'm struggling to see how a decent drink and curry can be fitted into the same evening. Is this part of Boris's plan to cut obesity??

Are kebab shops closed for takeaways at 10pm too or could we drink longer and get a filthy doner?
The 10pm rule is ridiculous. Mrs BC and I were planning an evening out & meal next week. We’re late eaters and generally book for 8:30 but I guess we’ll have to eat earlier so we’re not rushed at the end.

Thanks Boris. frown

A pub down the road from me has opened up again as it was caught out selling beer with no food when it was only supposed to serve alcohol while selling food so it got a prohibition notice.

It opened again to and have made a rule that is as follows

I mean fk off, you have more chance of getting covid while fingering your mask off and on going to the toilet, up to the bar, playing pool/darts etc. I've decided I won't be going to their establishment.

It's a very smart virus it know not to infect you while your eating or drinking.
It’s not a rule they made up - it’s every pub from Thursday (yesterday) onwards.
Yes, but s like him are just looking for things to moan about.

Shouldn't that be "Thanks coronavirus"?

Boris was widely criticised for not locking the nation down early enough. Now, any new measures are complained about.

People are directing their frustration at people rather than the virus. These new measures are hardly a big deal to customers.

I was in our local last night, watching entering customers startled by the staff insisting they take no more steps into the premises, as if their presence may lead to the spontaneous combustion of everybody else. Then demanding the NHS App is downloaded (4 people on a very quiet night politely said no and walked out). Finally, a grand reveal from the pinny pocket, bringing life to the Laminated Great QR Code Of Hope. 'ACHTUNG! MASKS AT ALL TIMES EINGANG AUSGANG UNT DAS KLOSETT!'.

Yeah, hardly any different to normal, don't know why we're complaining, really?

If this is enough to tip you over the edge, I honestly don't know how some of you ever got through life before COVID.

Ha ha.

Reading some of the whimpering tales of woe of people actually having to wear a mask! It reminds me of trying to get my daughter to put her school shoes on when she wants to wear her flip flops to school in February. "But I want to! I won't get cold, my feet are special, it's not fair!".

Oh I know, it's not so bad. It's not as if I'm tracked by the government as I traverse hospitality outlets, forced to wear a health-damaging face covering, or told who I can associate with, where and when, or have my business arbitrarily shut down with no notice, or my hospital appointments for my chronic condition terminated or my children prevented from being educated or even socialising with their friends or stopped from getting married or from paying my respects to dearly departed friends or indeed from even being allowed to demonstrate my displeasure at the performance of the government by peacefully protesting in person with other, like minded people. No siree, nothing on that scale, so I should smile, stiff upper lip and all that, and keep taking the Governmental Dildo of Incompetence right up my arse for the foreseeable, and be grateful for the opportunity.

I only picked the odd word out that nonsense. What would you differently? A free for all? Carry on as normal and bugger the consequences?

Went into a Toby carvery on Sunday (fancied something a bit different for lunch) and it was completely normal in there, no trace stuff, no masks, nothing.

A far cry from what all the locals have turned into, joyless sterile and far more expensive experiences.
