Not sure it will. Everyone desperate to go to a pub will have been and sat in a beer garden by then and met their friends and got it out of their system.
All the pubs will be open so not as big a rush to get a seat as you can just go to the next pub if that ones full.
Plenty of people will still be wary as well.
It will get busier with more turnover but as everyone in the pub will still have to be seated its not going to be crazy for a while yet.
Pubs will still have restricted opening times too.
Late licences (past 1am) and nightclubs are not scheduled until june.
Didn't mean for everyone just me personally, I'll be out for 10:30am and hammered by 6pm. Will stumble in at 5am or so. Dukebox, bit of pool, see my mates properly and have a good time. Can't wait.

How can it be miserable and cold ?

Last year we had a great summer.
Because UK. No two years are the same. Even those glorious summers we had as kids. A figment.

We got very lucky in lockdown 1. The weather was unexpectedly pleasant for spring.

Yes, from the first day March 23rd we had about 8 weeks solid of glorious weather, but we couldn't go out or we'd get an fpn.

I went out every day, either to work, shopping, a walk.

Was never issued with an FPN or even asked why I was out.

Met a couple of mates for a few beers last night - as we were sipping our al fresco beers in the car park beer garden, the gritter came past.....

Some of the local pubs have spent a fortune on outdoor covers and/or they simply close if the weather is not good.

Our local has had a warning from the council because someone was standing up drinking.

Quite what the problem is with standing holding a pint im unsure of but apparently the council official is very unhappy about it and was mentioning fines and closure of the pub.

In 2021 a pub in England is threatened with closure because a man stood with a pint.

fking hell.

The situation is so daft I have no idea whether you're being serious or not.

No it's not.

For many reasons.

People who stand up don't tend to stand in one spot.
People who stand up, how do you regulate the spacings others who gravitate across to them.
If you allow standing, you will always get a landlord who will let more in to also stand up.
How do staff pass People standing up, do you remove tables to create space?
How do other customers pass staff and standing up drinkers on the way to the toilet etc.
During covid there were many breaches, allowing people to stand adds to issues.

Trying to control drunk people standing up will be like herding cats.

(sigh)

I don't necessarily disagree with your logic, but I do find it incredibly surreal and depressing that we're even discussing this.

I do disagree on principle though and resent the confines and intrusion.

Have any Pubs actually lost their licence over this pandemic? See lots of threats but no actual proof.
Restaurant near me actively prevented the police from coming in and the patrons fled into the back garden yet it's still open.

Looks like I've been roped into going to an acquaintances birthday on Sunday which is now in a pub half an hour away when I was content with the original plan which was just to head down to the local park.

The planning of this event is like a military operation with multiple venues booked incase plans change (which I don't agree with), I'm sure pubs will soon have a blacklist of no shows.

The weather forecast is looking miserable in London for the bank holiday weekend, if it's raining then I'm going to stay at home and make excuses (perhaps I'll develop a cough).
