I had tuna steaks in the Algarve many years ago, and it was rather delicious. A sort of cross between shark and whale. lick Meaty and fishy, and really tender. Served with a salad and new potatoes in parsley butter.
The Portuguese certainly know how to cook.
They invented Piri-Piri chicken in a little village up in the hills near where we were staying.
My daughter, then aged 9, absolutely loved it, and once she tried it, she wouldn't eat anything else for the rest of the holiday.

Still hot and sunny here oop norf, but there are some clouds starting to gather.
I am sitting here out on the patio with my legs out and my Turkish all-terrain sandals on.
First outing for my legs this year.
Proper dazzling! cool

Why no love for a nice Barbecued tuna steak??? It's bloody lovely, bit of salt and pepper and a good squeeze of lemon and then BBQ until lightly browned!!! lick

Sounds good on paper Bobbers, but Tuna? The devil fish. It's cat food at best. Can you deliver a small portion of everything else? If not leave it behind the bike sheds at the village hall. Brown envelope awaits (standard charges apply) any chance of a ffs?
ION I've put all summer stuff back in the shed pending the real arrival of summer.
Cast ye no clouts ( with apologies to Frankie Howard, who was once a pupil at Shooters Hill Grammar School I'm informed)
I'd have forgiven you slur on our Tuna, but I can't forgive the request for a fish finger sandwich!!!! vomit

To be fair to you Bobber's I've had some wonderfull tuna steaks as Glenrobb describes in various parts of the world.
But I wouldn't trust myself with one on a BBQ I was in charge of.
Bon appetit tout Le Monde!

I’m very tempted to have some booze tonight, but I’m feeling the way I do when I know I’ll drink too much, so I think this evening for the TT VPU I’ll stick with a pint of Ribena. I’ve got wine, gin, rum, mixers, but it would just get messy, so I’m going to be sensible for once!

It's starting to look a little ominous over towards the west...

Today I have been mostly drinking tea, coffee or orange squash
All of yesterday's pints of G&T and numerous pints of Tetleys were okay, but I may have overdone it with the homemade Reservoir Dogs. drunk

I may just have a Tetleys now though.
See how it goes. smile

I thought I had had all the blondes.

I hope there’s no overlap the wrong way.

Dinner tonight was nothing exotic. Heinz cream of tomato soup and a couple of toasted (then buttered inside) pitta breads. I’ve just started watching a trashy Netflix series called “Schitt’s Creek”. It looks like “brain out” tv, but I’ve watched a fair bit of Scandi stuff today, so I’m giving my noggin a rest from reading the subtitles and following plot twists.

Bobbers, have you ever considered covering the tuna steaks in breadcrumbs, deep frying them and then putting them in some bread...?
