I've had a busy afternoon....

And then...

Both of which essential purchases obviously. When Babu Frik arrives I plan on 'weathering' him, adding some real leather to his hood and gloves and 3D Printing his tools. He'll then sit on R2D2 I think biggrin

Wasn't really paying attention, it took me until 'both of which are essential purchases' until I thought 'SoP'. In my defense, I'm a little ill right now.

Oh no. Feel better soon.
May I recommend a little frivolity? Good for what ails you biggrin

I frivolously bought a dozen croissants and 20 chocolate filled crepes from Costco. Should do the trick!

Costco cakes and pastries are almost always a frivolity here, with only the pair of us in the house we know we can’t eat that much but still buy them biggrin

A pair of reconstituted stone owls, now flanking the steps to the upper lawn.

I like them too much for them to be frivolous.

Some time ago in this thread there was a lot of posting about a super duper, reasonably priced, torch. Does anyone remember what it was?

I know that is vague but I'm sure someone will post the right thing.

That's the one!

Is this some sort of record? Amazing work.

The Nebo Larry’s are the best little torches I’ve ever bought.

Top tip for being slightly unfrivolous, if you have a Homesense or TK Maxx have a look in the aisle of bloke as I call it. They frequently turn up there and they can be quite cheap as well.

Nothing frivolous about those owls, they're lovely.

There's a whole thread on torches, not sure if it was a spinoff from this one or the other way around, but has the potential to be equally frivolously expensive biggrin

My latest FP was delivered on Saturday - it's a lot bigger than I remembered from viewing it eek

It's a 1913 Cadillac, 6 litre 50hp speedster. Coming not very soon at all to a VSCC race series!

It's got all the mod cons - electric start, a 3-speed gearbox and twin-plug ignition - and being pre 1915, it's RHD too

Of course, if I tell people that I've bought a Cadillac with 25 inch wheels and button-back upholstery, they tend to get quite a different image in their head rofl

Quite possibly!

I regard them as frivolous because while lovely, they are purely decorative. I might be missing the point of "frivolous" though.

You're in the wrong thread. That's not frivolous, it's essential. It's even got hill-start !

I absolutely love that. I can imagine it’s great fun to drive.

Speaking of, the frivolity from ten months ago caught up with me today when this was delivered.
Extra frivil points because there was nothing wrong with the car I had already, I barely do 3,000 miles a year anyway and it won’t reach my daughters house in Milton Keynes without a charge stop, but you know what, I absolutely love it.

Never driven auto before, and the whole concept of one pedal/foot driving is a habit I need to get into now as I keep finding myself left foot braking because my instinct is to clutch.
Tomorrow afternoon I intend to just drive for an hour or two and retrain my feet biggrin

You get used to it very fast. We have an ipace and an automatic SLK, when I drive my manual MINI S particularly after a long motorway run I nearly stall at the first stopping junction as I forget about using the clutch.

Tuck your left foot out of the way, you'll get used to it soon enough.
