Probably not as frivolous as it could have been, but.....

Messing about in the garden last week I dropped one of the cheap earbuds I use in the pond. After half an hour of messing I eventually pulled it up with a magnet and it was still playing! (Fleetwood Mac if anyone cares). Soon transpired the bugger wouldn't charge and is now dead.
Found these on Amazon, have outstanding reviews and a tenner off so bought them:

Brilliant things. Truly. And noise cancelling as well.

Not as frivolous as it could have been as I was looking at air pods but reasoned I'd be a lot more upset when one of those ended up in the water, slightly frivolous as I already have a lot of pairs of Sennheiser wired headphones I could have defaulted to.

In a similar way, I have a pair of these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QM3WT8L/

The sound quality is fine for podcasts while walking the dog or for watching a movie while using a turbo trainer in the garage.

They've even been through the washing machine in their case once, and after a couple of days in the airing cupboard they're back to working fine.

Audiophiles may not love them, but if you want a pair to abuse, they do take it!

I think i'd have cried if I'd dropped anything expensive in there biggrin
Can't beat cheap earphones to abuse, but cheap earphones that actually have really good sound and noise cancelling are perfect.

Not bad, but on this thread we can do better than that. These were created by a guy in the Caterham/Graduates paddock and they are awesome. https://www.fastmateracing.com/

My team mate (tin tops) has one similar to this, was over 300quid second hand. First meeting he couldn’t work out how to use it hehe

Took your advice, works well, thanks.

Do I need the other gauge as well for a second opinion?

Yes, but then you need a third gauge to see which of the first two is reading high and which is reading low - you could always use one of your other 4 but you've already dismissed them as no good so you'll need another frivolous purchase soon....

A Vax ONEPWR Blade 4 Pet Dual Battery, we have a perfectly good Vax upright, but both decided we'd like a lighter cordless vacuum!!

Popped up as a recommended you tube video review after watching a mobile review and after going down a rabbit hole I ordered one. For £35 its a decent bit of kit. Im not fussed on full smart watches as I don't need notifications or to watch you tube vids on it so an activity band is a decent compromise.

Amazing the battery lasts days and putting on charge whilst in the shower is enough. I thought id be taking off every night to put on charge.
