Yet more frivolous purchases, stuff you don't need...
Discussion
As a young lass I bought an album by a then, not very well known little band, called Guns n Roses. Turned out they became quite big. It also turned out that the original release that I had was swiftly banned in the UK because of its cover.
Now I’m old, my records went years ago and I’m slowly trying to rebuild my teenage collection so the regular, run of the mill cover for Appetite for Destruction just won’t do for me.
So yes, I have paid twice the price of a repressing just to own that original, banned artwork cover copy.
And you know what? It fills me with joy

I bought one of those mats a while ago, unfortunately as I love in Liverpool I now get no visitors at all
Edit: qué? I've quoted my reply in my own reply somehow.
I may have gone slightly overboard.
Our water supplier offered me a rebate... of £1500.
Obviously I immediately replaced my bike pedals. With Assioma Duo power pedals. Shiny. And to keep them shiny, I replaced my lightly smoking and awful-noise making Nilfisk pressure washer... with this: https://www.directhoses.net/collections/or11-domes...
In fairness, I am on my second Nilfisk, the first having been replaced under warranty, so if the new one lasts for six years, it's cost the same.
And then there's the replacement heart rate strap for my running watch. I've gone through three cheapo ones in three years. So 25% off a genuine Garmin one seems to be a decent plan.

I'm upgrading two working 4k 60Hz 27-inch monitors to two 4k 160Hz 32-inch monitors.
But each of the new ones comes with a free copy of Dragon's Dogma 2, which practically pays for the entire affair.
I am now cowering in fear with two gargantuan monitors towering over me. They're wider than my desk! But each of the new ones comes with a free copy of Dragon's Dogma 2, which practically pays for the entire affair.
Ace.

We have 2 of those. You have to pre-chill the bowl. So in the midst of a hot summer we bought a second kit. Now we never run out! But definitely frivolous.
It takes up an annoyingly large chunk of the freezer.Oh, and a couple of ice cream recipe books, such as this one wouldn't go amiss either..

I love how us Brits consider an RC model, cordless pressure washer or novelty t-shirt to be a frivolous purchases. Americans go straight for the deadly weapons.
It's not just an American thing.... I originally frivolously purchased this a few years ago having previously been part of a club but then wanting my ownIs made from stronk Soviet steel, comrade!
I then extremely frivolously purchased this differing, complimentary little Italian number as an early Christmas present to myself this winter

Yup. Its not just Americans. I'm British (although married to an American, who has zero interest in weapons of any kind). Is made from stronk Soviet steel, comrade!

I bought this in November, as I swore (to myself, apparently without real commitment) that I'd use it for practical shotgun. It has sat unused in the safe, as I don't have the time. I shall probably sell it as it is utterly surplus to requirements, I think.
