Steve Swain is our Shrewsbury way isn’t he?
Shrewsbury is only twenty miles west of where I live, and twenty miles north of where I grew up.
If I’m thinking of the right firm they used to do a lot over the water years ago. Never worked for them though, Shropshire has as bad a name as Stoke for toss companies but Swain I believe was a decent job.
He went bust then started up again, the story I heard was he folded the business because of an expensive divorce then restarted when it was all over. But that’s probably driver bullst so probably not the truth.
I always liked the look of Pentons trucks, but they are all old cattle, and they don’t pay great.
Wouldn’t ever entertain the yogurt pricks as that’s an awful job ( Muller ) they are ten minutes from me as well, or Grocontinental. I’ve had enough of fridges, always an antisocial and poor job dragging a reefer around imo, and I’ve done that crap all round Europe at one time or another.
Anyway I’ve talked diesel enough for one day, gonna read me new book now.
It’s a Douglas Reeman one.
Ta tar.
Missed this last night. Shrewsbury is only twenty miles west of where I live, and twenty miles north of where I grew up.

Yes, Swainer is just west of Shrewsbury - I drive past his yard every day on the way to work. My mate reckoned he was a decent sort to work for. Only reason he left was because he had an opportunity in a different industry. Pentons these days look a little bit down at heel, its like pride in the fleet has gone. Soon as I have some spare time (which won't be next year due to a major training course) I will get at least the rigid licence.
ION, today I had an RUD* off the Suzuki.
Various bits of me will be blue, purple and yellow tomorrow.

I'm not a biker type, but I believe the SMIDSYs are the worst.
I prefer the security of a flimsy fibreglass/plastic composite shell around my lower half, coupled with my dayglow orange balaclava:
much more visible than a narrow momobike.
Blue, purple and yellow are honourable colours. And a lesson to us all.
Good morning everyone.
I laid some new drain pipes last week to connect a house to the main sewer. I left the new pipe in the cellar ready for future connection,I had put tape over the end of the pipe to stop any sewer smells.
Yesterday I discover the tape has been chewed through from the inside of the new pipe!

FFS don’t go back down there alone.
I’ll buzz Bomma, see if we have anything at all in the hanger that’s powerful enough to do the job.
Trivialites be brave, we knew this day was coming.
Pics of bruised legs so we can virtually prod them and ask if it hurts!!!
Yet again wemakeplanebit.com has demonstrated it's complete and utter lack of communication, when i left yesterday there was a perfectly clear direction for the work load and any operator to follow on the machine, a different operator was moved on to cover my absence and took it upon himself to move two more batches of the same job onto the machine to "make it easier", i now have to break the job down and set up a different job as that's the part we actually need to produce!!!

Morning all! I still have no covid symptoms apart from the pre-existing ones. The beer & whisky seem to be keeping the lurgy at bay. And I have Battert's Restorative elixir as backup if I do succumb to it. Thanks Bomma!
Mrs. Robbo is still alive, I can hear her snoring away in the next bedroom. I'm feeding her regularly on Ryvita, cheese slices, pizza, anything thin enough to slide under the door.
Glad you're reasonably okay, SWTH. It could have been a lot more worserer. Especially if S&M had been about at the time. You'd have been well & truly trucked.
That would be bad, because there are people who need your organs.
I've never been a bikerer. My Dad forbade me to have one because his older brother was killed on one at the age of 21.
So I've always been into cars.
One of the plus points of my TVRs is that I've never been high-sided in them. Perhaps I haven't tried hard enough.
Damp and grey oop norf, signing off for now.

Hi Bomma!
Welcome back.
Have you seen any sign of Peri?
He said he was going to have a go at Minty's fuel leak, but hasn't been seen since.
I hope he hasn't been FIATtened underneath.
It's pissing down here oop norf.
Today I was hoping to take down the patio canopy for the winter, but it needs to be dry before storing away in the shed. The spiders don't like it too wet.
It hasn't had much use this year. Not many garden parties or bacchanalian orgies with Visqueen and sun cream.
Damn this plague.
