I did PHSS for a couple of years (2 or 3) before handing over the (chili) baton. It’s actually remarkably enjoyable and not too time consuming. There’s one pain in the ass job to do (matching participants and emailing out info) - this only took a couple of hours and most of the time was actually just spent making sure I hadn’t screwed up the match and ensured everyone gets a gift and a victim. Everything else is little and often.

I wouldn’t have accepted the £50 - maybe sent it to charity. Instead of raising for Santa, why not have Santa nominate a charity that people could then donate to, if they wish, in his name? Maybe taxidermyaholics anonymous?

Yeah, as a former Santae I would agree.
