This rain is getting very boring now.

Countryside walks are just a trudge through liquid mud.

Please will someone turn the effing tap off? Won’t anyone think of the wellies?

I wear decent boots and gaiters, dog straight into the shower.
Some hills are so slippery I'm on all fours, takes the joy out of it.

We installed a thermostatically preset shower as an additional outside tap to clean the dog. It works really well.

Ours are more than happy to jump into any water they can find. If they're particularly mucky I'll often stop at the village stream o the way home and they pile in and get all the mud off, then they're just wet, but if that fails then they get the standard outside hose - I figure if they'll jump in the stream of their own choice, they won't mind the cold tap!

To be fair, for a proper bath, I do run a hose inside and hook it to a mixer tap, but not for a "legs and undercarriage" rinse!

I note you're in the SE - should be better for us next week.

For the north though, the unsettled weather is due to continue.

There are known cases of Alabama rot on this side of Reading too. So lots of clean down required asap.

I reckon that's it this year now - anyone else?

I want to put the nice fatties back onto Mrs DSs car, not the little 16" winter castors.
I was thinking the same. I'll probably swap them in March time, when the days are a little lighter and I can also give the arches a good cleaning out too.
I usually wait for the clock change. I'm never in any rush to get the summers back on.

Never heard of this so thanks for the heads up. Assume it's a soil born virus although the PDSA site I read are a bit vague.

It snowed again in Colorado last night. Yet another light dusting, maybe an inch. So far this season we've had one decent snowfall of ~4", and maybe a dozen dustings.

This one was only worth mentioning as the weather report earlier in the week, and indeed the day, made no mention of it. I happened to look at the forecast later in the day and saw that 12 hours of snow was due in about 6 hours from that point (3p.m.). Then looked out the window 10 minutes later and there were already flakes blowing around.

Yesterday, the 10 day forecast was showing nothing due. Today, there's two storms forecast. I'm pretty sure that tomorrow there will be nothing expected....

High today is -3c.

Truth is we only know about the effects - there's very little known about how it spreads. Best defence is avoid mud, and wash down after walks.

Still 2 storms forecast. On different days than yesterday, though.

It’s a shame how quickly the snow has disappeared, even from higher ground.

We lost our whole 6” in about 48 hours.
