Puggit, why have we had this mass of cold air over us for so long? I really can’t remember it being so cold right into May, with April being pretty much a write off...

Realise it’s due to high pressure, but is there a blockage in the Arctic or something? Jet stream switched off?!

Pretty much - high pressure over Greenland. If this was Jan/Feb we'd be relishing a cold spell of significance. The jet stream is also south of the UK, meaning we're sat on the cold side
