Yep - glorious colour, but not great formation.

Talking of which back here in the UK, there is chitter chatter about an arctic blast and possible 'white easter'?

Colin, Colin, Colin...

A short lived easterly whisp of cold air for the south this weekend.

Nothing for Easter.

Looks like the high will become elongated towards the weekend, with the light winds traveling a long way across the Atlantic before reaching us.

Dry - murky. Yuck.

Atrocious conditions expected in SE USA today as cold and warm air meets. Multiple violent supercell storms, tornadoes, massive hail, floods.

This will be news-worthy.

19 degrees in Dundee, 10 down here in Berkshire.

Often the way in early spring.

Was 2c in Macc last night.

What's happened to the polar vortex thingy, has that now corrected? If not, will if affect our summer weather?
High pressure at the moment - a good indicator that the PV is weakening as we warm up on top of the planet.

Would this stretch up to East Anglia too? The Golf Courses open next week and I'm out Monday and Thursday smile
Winds will be from the south - so if it's 20 in the London area, maybe 16-18 more likely for you.

So an unsettled spell coming up soon - as you can see, quite the NW/SE split in terms of rainfall.

It's likely to be hotter than 19 next week.

Followed by an Arctic blast at Easter!

How bad is this 'Arctic blast' looking?
It will feel bad after the warmth!

Single digits - maybe 10 in the south. Snow possible up north.

The cold blast is quite a narrow corridor of air from the north, and these kinds of features tend to shift east as we approach the date due. So it could just be a glancing blow, or miss us.

Hence we sometimes get disappointments in winter wink
