Lionesses. Already.
Lionesses ... again.

We have managed to get away from feminising occupations so we have female actors, managers, hosts etc, but we still use the term Lionesses.
I wonder how the girls will do ?

No fk off. They aren't girls. They are women. Fully grown adult women playing football.

They were "girls" until they were maybe 13. Then "Young women" , and once they got to 18 "women"

Stop infantalising grown adults (to the media and commentators in particular)
For decades we've heard the refrain "The boys done good". It was ever thus.

I have never heard that one before, and I work in Fin services.

Is it a Northern regional thing, as I’m from the south?

When did the word you’ve never heard of start to annoy you?

"narrative" normally precursor to some opinionated and ill-informed rant about complex issues totally misunderstood.

...and that awful starting a sentence with a 'So...'

I’m not sure it’s any different to saying “how the lads will do” tbh.
And that simmers my piss also. But more so "boys"

The boys did well today.

None of them are boys.

There's too many examples on the last few pages for me to comment on all but some of the words or phrases are OK to use, it's just that they're annoying when misused.

As an example, generation x, y, z or whatever is valid if not used in an ageist way. To say millennials are lazy feckers would be an ageist insult but to say they've never experienced mortgage rates of 16% is fine.

Suffering with mental health issues can be short term and it's better if someone recognises that however that description is annoyingly misused.

Get hydrated means much much more than just drink when thirsty. I've not actually heard that one misused.

Or more precisely in football speak - The boys done well today.

Strange post. It’s been used fairly extensively in the coverage of the Farage account closure.

Constant use of “amazing” started off with Sarah Beeny on her programme, every second sentence used it.

We started calling it out every time it was used whatever programme, had to stop everybody uses it.

They will be wearing a dreamcoat next

'Absolutely' must have been mentioned, especially when used as a substitution for 'Yes'
