Apparently there's a mining camp in Alaska called Chicken.

The original inhabitants wanted to call it Ptarmigan, but couldn't agree on how to spell that, so they settle for Chicken.

It reminds me of an essay I had to write whilst studying A level 'Design" about the life an influence of William Morris.
