I can swim and I'm not scared of heights, but I think I'd have to build up slowly to doing a length in that.
It's in South London. 35m (115ft) above the ground. Made of acrylic, apparently.
Looks great from below but I imagine, once your in it, even with goggles on, looking down wouldn’t be that scary.

Whilst not wanting to get all conveyor belt about this.

If there were a hundred people in there, each weighing 100kg, would that be adding 10 tons to the weight in the pool?

You'd struggle to get 100 people in it, let alone 100 people weighing 100Kg.

Wouldn't they displace (about) 10 tons of water to maintain the same water level?

No. The people would displace water, and we're not far off the density of water. The weight would remain roughly the same.

That's assuming that the water level stays the same (i.e. set up like an infinity pool and the water overflows out as someone gets in...

Might be outing myself as a born in the 70s mild homophobe, but whilst in the train station I heard the announcement over the PA "If you see something that doesn't look right..." just as I noticed two men holding hands in front of me and I burst out laughing.

(Possible pearoast)

At the airport I one heard an announcement that any bags left unattended would be siezed and destroyed... Just as an old lady walked past on her own.

Only if the displaced water left the pool. Normally the level rises according to the volume of the person's body.

Most sniggersome part of the story is that apparently the Shared ownership residents of the block are banned from using it.
It’s only open to the fabulously wealthy residents.

This; all swimming pools have balance tanks and very tight optimal level control for continuous water purification purposes hence get run v. close to constant level.
So just like a barge on an aqueduct - that pool sees a constant load.

Come on Charles! From what I've gathered about you, which admittedly is only your online persona, sarcasm is in your blood. It wasn't the funniest post I've ever read on the world wide web, but it tickled me a little. It didn't even a raise a smirk?
