The Hunter Biden laptop is a great example of a clear fabrication being believed by people who don't want to admit they've been drawn into a lie. As you ironically said, do you beleive everything you're told... Or just the thing you don't want to.

Those right wing conspiracy theory peddlers the New York Times and the Washington Post both now acknowledge that the Hunter Biden laptop is legit, and not “Russian disinformation”. So which part of it is a conspiracy theory? The conspiracy theory on that subject is the people who will believe anyone who tells them the laptop story is still fake news.

I really wish that I thought the world was a fair and honest place where decency prevailed and there was no large scale underhand behaviour.

And where I believed that Hunted Biden didn't even have a laptop, there wasn't a lab in Wuhan doing gain of function research into bat viruses funded by the US, and a massive airliner really did manage to crash horizontally into the Pentagon - but, miraculously, made only one hole where the fragile nose made contact with the wall but not two massive holes where the engines hit the wall.
