On the way home through Chesterfield from a work trip and hungry. Options are Nando’s, Harvester or Frankie & Benny.

Council, council or council?
Why are any 3 of them considered "Council"? Both Nando's and F&B generally seem to be serve reasonable food and full of decent customers....

Council has got nothing to do with budgets and all about attitudes/behaviours.

They are rather council places and Nandos is just KFC on a plate.

I appreciate that we're on Volume 5 so perhaps I should have asked this before but what defines a "Council" place or "Council" food?

Someone just proudly posted this on Facebook.

A building site somewhere is missing a couple of lengths of 600mm twin wall pipe. Those are serious money, there’s no way a ‘Councilista’ actually paid for them legitimately.

Car pages on FB where people 'brought' a car when they meant 'bought' - where did you bring it you utter fktard.

Also pictures of BMWs with 3 of slats on the bonnet grille in M colours.

Cars with 'extreme camber', or even worse 'slammed on air'. They just look broken, it's not cool, it's st.

End of rant.

Not just FB, it's quite common on here too.

I was wondering the same thing but too embarrassed to ask! Never been in a Nando's but F&B always seems decent to me, at least all the ones I have ever been in.

Then again my mum was brought up in a Council house so maybe I fit right in :-)

I am sure that KFC is council. I always understood it stood for Kan't F***ing Cook.

The food itself in Nando's is fine for what it costs, it's grilled chicken rather than the fried chicken at KFC.

Love a cheeky nandos (couldn’t resist getting that in).

That’s what I was about to say - I think there is a world of difference between KFC and Nandos in both quality and style of prep/cook personally but certainly the clientele aren’t too different.

I am self-declared council though.

Is that because it's cheap? Genuine question, never been in a nando's.

Yes, it's good value for money and there's many healthy choices.

Ahhhhh Nandos. Have loved the place since last year when my fiancé and I were Guinea pigs for their new app and all food and soft drinks was gratis. Cheers!

Seems expensive to me for a bit of chicken and some sauce out of a bottle.

There's a free outdoor comedy club coming up for key workers.
"Can teachers come?" (it says in the description who they allow as key workers, mainly the emergency services).

Another one. "Can I have 30 tickets please?".
