Apart from the stupidity of the whole situation, I always think that the process of hearing on old saying and then mis-quoting it is council.

In the case, instead of 'fighting tooth and nail', she is going to be 'fighting to the nail'. In fairness, it is the Mail, so it could be their mistake rather than hers.
