Pretty women & face tattoos. Why?
Discussion
Tattoos have never been my thing, the wife has some, doesn't really bother me either way.
If I were employing for an office based or customer facing job, I wouldn't have an issue with visible tattoos on the body unless they were offensive, however I think the face or neck would probably be a step too far.
Can you discriminate against employing someone with face tattoos these days or has it become protected?

I know a woman, she's probably late 20's, very pretty.
She has tattoo's covering atleast 90% of her body. They go all the way upto her chin and down the back of her hands.
On Instagram they're all out but whenever I see her in real life she more often than not has a turtle neck on with long sleeves, which just about covers them all up.
While they don't look awful it just screams cry for help to me.

And to be fair, the same applies to men with face tattoos. They look garbage.
Not sure how it will look when she's 60 though.
I dislike the nose ring and ear stretcher far more than I do the ink.
Times really have changed, you'd rarely see a face tattoo apart from the odd hard-core skinhead round London. This was Carnaby Street regular Terry Bonner who really had the ability to shock back in the early '80s.
I've noticed this hand and face tattoo fad on women over the past decade or so, especially hand-writing style stuff on hands.

Is it like buying a boat, seems like a great idea, all consuming working up to getting it, getting it and then thinking wtf and spending the next amount of time wanting rid after enjoying it for a bit

Ditto those huge thigh tattoos on otherwise pretty young women.
Each to their own, and I may be old (40s), but i've never seen a woman or man who's appearance was enhanced by a tattoo (or pumped-up lips for that matter. Frozen faces are another odd one). It's none of my business, but it sometimes seems sad to see an otherwise attractive young person who has disfigured themselves with prominent body art.The tribal and barbed wire tattoos from the 90s/00s look very dated now, but some of the current ones are huge and very prominent. I've noticed that adverts now often show models with hand and neck tattoos (possibly photoshopped).
It is the permanency and almost certain future deterioration (and probably distortion when the person puts on middle-age spread) of tattoos that I find hard to comprehend.

On a related note, my 2nd cousin's gone the whole hog. Face tats, stretched ear lobes, facial piercings etc. He's unemployed, and 'unable to work' due to his 'health issues'. The health issues are basically self-inflicted by his total failure to manage type 1 diabetes in any way. Always on 'go fund me' to have his house upgraded due to his requirements brought on by health issues... but somehow manages not to have any problems funding more tats and piercings. Probably one for the 'council' thread...

Sometimes people just make daft choices, which seem like a good idea at the time. I had my favourite 'brand'of ecstasy tattooed on my neck, at 17 it seemed like a brilliant idea, but obviously it wasn't
