How is that affecting you if they are?
Because they annoy me.
Why though? How would you even notice?
I'm sorry, I wasn't aware i nedd to give a reason. smile

I have one chap who lives close enough to walk to the office. He goes almost half a mile out of his way (and almost half a mile back again) to buy a Costa on the way. I spend around £50 a week on fresh coffee for the machine in the office to accomodate my staff.

There are lots of discussions on here about how good/bad Costa, Starbucks, Nero and so on are, but it's alll rubbish, sold at a huge margin to people who, fifteen years ago, would have managed /did manage perectly well without needing a coffe to help them through the next, and every, hour of their day.
So it annoys you that he goes for a 20 minute walk and has a coffee?

Bit of an odd thing to get annoyed about.
Are we still doing this?
If you want to.

Why does it annoy you that he gets annoyed by it?

It doesn't.

FFS, it's 2021, I feel we can dispense with the distancing nonsense if we are all wearing masks and one jab up.

You get the feeling some PH jobsworths would love these restrictions to continue forever.
Even before Covid some people would just stand too close to you.

All these tts on TV pretending to be intellectual by interviewing at home in front of a book case full of absolute st that they maybe read about twenty years ago and have no intention of reading ever again.
I believe you can buy a 'stand up bookcase' which you sit in front of, is fully portable and only shows the book titles.

Yesterday, playing scrabble. Sister on law invited to play.
It's like a fking was zone.

Is Mics a word you can have? It's a shortened version of microphone, in plural.
Apparently I'm a cheat. It's an abbreviation according to her. Really? Mic is in common enough use. Surely.
Then
Every other word I try to put down she challenges.
I lost the fking will to play. It was all I could do, not picking the board and throwing it across the room.

"Download our app to make a booking".

"Download our app to place your order".

"Download our app to activate your membership".

"Download our app so that we can steal all your data".

No, I fking won't download your app to do anything! I've got enough st on my phone already and I can't be expected to download an app for every fking service I want to use otherwise I'd have several hundred apps on my phone!

A regular website or mobile web is perfectly sufficient, thanks.

Always best to have a dictionary to check everthing. But I suppose you can just look anything up on your phone. Can't see how she can object to mics.

I do sometimes wonder if people keep having to delete apps just to they can download new apps that they then have to delete so they can reinstall the prevously deleted ones.

Mind you, my phone's only 32Gb...

There’s an actual scrabble dictionary of allowed words. I got one in a charity shop for 50p.

Yes!!! And when you are forced to create an account for a one-off thing, e.g. parking in some place you will never come back to - when you delete the app you know it doesnt delete your data from their databases automatically so you know they still have your details.

EU cookie directive annoys me. Not because of the directive itself, but because it was basically old men deciding it was a good idea without really knowing much about the subject and hence the implementation of it is awful. They should have required opt-out by default, opt-in on exception, not "ask every damn time the first time I even hit your site". And, cookie messages should not be required before hitting a paywall anyway.

Is there not some rule in Scrabble that if you're challenged and your word is acceptable, the challenger loses points?

I just got caught clicking on an link in an email my company sent me. They regually send our fake phishing attempts to catch people out.

The email was about intermittent internet outages next week and to click for dates and times. Ironically my IT is so st that not being to keep the internet up for a week seemed legitimate. hehe

Wait, what? Your company is trying to 'catch people out'? How are things in Pyongyang , by the way?
