Perhaps, because it's all 'died' now apart from a quote by his partner referring to 'passing away'.

I hate the way programmes spend the first 2-3 minutes before the title card showing you all the highlights. Does my fecking head in. Even when you've recorded it or it is streamed you then have to skip forward to the actual start of the show.

Online subscriptions advertised at a low monthly price but which you have to pay all at once for a year. That's not a monthly price, it's a monthly equivalent.

The writing on the BBC website has been atrocious for a long time. Lots of typos, slang, and grammatical errors. All things that should be picked up by proof reading before hitting upload.

Can't stand phoning companies that want a security check before you get put through... only to then be asked the same fecking questions.

So the automated process asks for stuff like your bank card number, and DOB, and name. Then you get put through and they want it again.

Regional accents on the BBC, frequently played up by the speaker. You can have any accent you like to present on the BBC, as long as you have been to a suitable university or are already a celebrity.

Glottal stops, "haitch" and pronouncing 'us' as 'uzz' are among the irritations.

Haven’t paid a cheque in for years but always used to use the banking app to do it. No need for visiting a bank and mingling with the staff.
HSBC have a limit on their app. If it's a large cheque you have to go to a branch to pay it in
Barclay's limit is £500

I recently had to go into the sole remaining branch within 30 miles to pay a cheque in...

"Can I help you"

"I need to pay this cheque in"

"Oh, you can do that using the app you know" delivered in a superior tone

"Not when it's for £140K you can't !"

The look on her face was priceless smile

I used them for years before I switched to delivery. Really easy to use and you get to use a manned till. As you don't need to unload and reload your trolly

Except if you have alcohol. We always have alcohol. And the first 5 times we used them. And the supervisor got sniffy when I called her "enhanced check" a "shoplifting check". So fk That Noise.

But it's not a shoplifting check, it's an age check.

Read what I wrote again. Contemplate the meaning of the word "And".

I know what it means (I also know that it shouldn't be use to start a sentence, let alone two in a row), but I don't understand why you think it changes what I thought you said. The automated checkout doesn't recognise you. It'll ask for an age check every time you try to buy alcohol.

I call them a "naughty boy check" and always joke with the assistant that if there's anything that didn't get scanned, it's the kids' fault. Usually because one of the kids has the "gun" and trying to get them to scan everything is a bloody nightmare.

No ****, Sherlock. "And" sometimes they do shoplifter checks. "And" those checks have a euphemistic name. "And" they get sniffy when that's pointed out. "And" I will not use the self-scan system for that, among other reasons. "And" now do you get it? ("And" this is a forum on a car site, not "Pedants-R-US". "And" it is perfectably acceptable to start a sentence with a conjunctiom.)

When Ikea first installed the self service tills maany years ago when they were still a noveltyI got asked if I'd mind having my trolley checked and did I have my receipt.
I replied Yes I would and Yes I have. You could have checked my trolley if you'd been a cashier and ran the items through the tills - and kept walking.
The guy looked very perplexed and mentioned that I would be blacklisted and checked every time I used the self service tills in the future.
I've not been such a tit since. I hope he hasn't either.

In Costco, even although the cashier scans all the items, they still check the items against the receipt before you leave the shop.

We've been caught by that once, had to do the walk of shame back to the customer service desk. Elbow nudges and finger points all down the queue.

We'd been double charged for something.
