Countryfile used to have "The weather for farmers", as if somehow farmers got different weather to everyone else.

They could dispense with the weather report entirely and just say "yes it's raining again"
It seems the BBC's weather app actually does that.

Meteorologists at the corporation have confirmed they pick the symbol that summarises the day’s weather based on the dreariest part of the forecast.

So 12 hours of sun, 1 hour of rain and the BBC's app shows the raining symbol for the day.

Special forecasts - they have to spread manure on warm days when a gentle wind is blowing towards residential areas.

Nice day when townies might venture into the countryside? Time to herd all the livestock from the top field down to the bottom, and then back up again via lots of single track roads. hehe

Pulling over to let an ambulance with blue lights flashing past and having to avoid one of those mobile signs on wheels on the verge saying 'speed limits apply to everybody'

The dimwit tart yesterday that kakked herself because there was an ambulance coming up in her rear view mirror. Stopped inappropriately on a busy A road that was about to open up into a dual carriageway.

Yes, the mainstream ones are all absolutely fine. Millions of people use them. If you need any guidance, just ask, plenty of techies here to help smile . I personally like uBlock Origin for blocking all youtube ad crap as it works well. Direct link here if you use Chrome browser - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ublock-or... . Just click the install button and after 10 seconds or so it's done and running. Nothing else to do ! smile

I appreciate this is singularly my problem.

Looking in a shop window that I'm about to enter. Only to see ZERO other customers even browsing and at least 3 members of staff just waiting to pounce on you as soon as you even open the door. I won't even enter those stores it bugs me so much! laugh

3 shops today I wanted to enter but didn't even bother!

I like to buy clothes in person. (cause I'm always between sizes no matter what it is!) But this over staffing in shops pushes me towards online, and then just returning whatever I don't like, instead of being harassed for 5 mins in person

Stacey Solomon. I don’t care what her daily desire to be in the press is each day. Tired of seeing her bright orange face.

CDG is on of the worst airports I've been through. Transferring internally is a nightmare. The most wonderful experience I've had there is when I had 3 hours to "transfer" but as luck would have it I was already in the correct part of the airport - so I didn't bother to try to go anywhere else, and I was able to watch the appalling queues getting in to where I already was.
If CDG is "one of the worst" airports you've been though, you clearly haven't been through many airports. I wouldn't even call it the worst in Europe, Frankfurt is far worse and there's plenty of major European airports I haven't been thought so the bottom of the barrel might not even be there.

I'd take CDG over any American airport and don't even get me started on the nightmare that Australian airports are.
Used to be that international flights into JFK in NYC came into one terminal, claimed your bags and cleared customs, then you had to exit the terminal, catch a shuttle to another terminal, recheck your bag and then go through security to get back in for a domestic flight.

That sounds like Chicago O'Hare where all international arrivals ate into T5, including American as only 1 terminal has US immigration and customs, meaning that if you have an onward American connection you have to get the train over to T3. It's a pain. If I could avoid 2 airports forever it would be O'Hare and CDG. The first for the terminal transfer faff and the winter weather disasters, CDG because it is a nightmare for connections depending on where you start from and need to go to. Frankfurt is also a PITA but I have fondness for it after working there on and off for a few years. I also worked at CDG - no fondness at all.

Farmers need to know if there will be a week of sun so they can dry their autumn limperscrotes, and
if there'll be moistness so they can skitter a few acres of brown dangleberries.

Yes, it seems to happen a lot.
Should be obvious that if there are blue lights behind you then keep going! At least the emergency vehicle is then keeping going.

LAX and it's 9 terminals... Half the time you end up walking because it's faster than the free shuttle busses.

What annoys me is when you see the emergency vehicle in your mirror, so pull over, and then the car behind you overtakes right in front of the ambulance etc.
