That search engines are still really fking stupid and are unable to recognise key words that negate other key words.

"Casual summer caps" brings up nothing but baseball caps.

"Casual summer caps that aren't baseball caps" brings up nothing but baseball caps
You should be able to use a - sign for stuff you don't want, eg "Casual summer caps -baseball"
Or just search for 'casual summer hats'? scratchchin

Why do I have to close an advert down on my phone 3 sodding times before it actually goes away, if I close it once that should be enough, do these annoying twonks gain something from people being constantly mistakenly linked to the Play store or something? Oh hang on I will download that thing that has been annoying me for hours, I don't get it. I would not download it on principle!!
On the matter of adverts that pop up on phone and are the devil to close down.

I'll add those game adverts that assume I need some in game impossibly pneumatic cartoon totty, bare midriff, Glock strapped to upper thigh to get me to download their stty game.

Although there was a new one today, two adult couples arguing over a parking space, access to said space determined by who had the most points in some war game. FFS

Emailed a company about an enquiry if they could supply something...

Got a response back

If you are looking for a price and availability, please supply:

CONTACT NUMBER

FFS, If I wanted to be contacted by phone I would have phoned them. Not to mention it was a yes or no question which they haven't answered.
This gets worse and worse.

After 3 days without a response I emailed back on the first email address (rather than the reply to) with the number. I get back a "please supply the registration", to which I have to explain that it's a kit car, it hasn't been registered and even if it had the system undoubtedly wouldn't actually work to pull up the correct details...

To this I get another email asking for my post code. The post code that I have repeatedly put in and is still in the email chain many times.

5 emails in at this point they have not confirmed if they actually can supply one let alone given a price.

On a similar matter, I emailed an insurance company (let's call them "Illegal and Specific" for now) about a policy I have with them, I got an auto-responder but nothing more than that.

If you're not going to respond to emails, don't put an email address on the letter as a form of contact.

Ever tried to find what draft lagers and beers a pub serves when you look at their website, they are never listed. I have taken to looking up photos on Tripadviser to see if anyone has taken a picture of the bar where you can see the pumps.

You only go to a pub which serves sepcific beers? Buy them in the supermarket and stay at home.

Planning what you're going to drink before you go? Pffft.

I often also look at a menu before I go, that must really blow your mind.

Beer selections change far too often in British pubs, especially when it comes to ale but larger can change as well. So pubs don't bother listing what they have on tap because shortly, they might not have it.

That photo you found on the internet may only have been taken a few weeks ago... however it may be completely inaccurate by now.

Going all nerdy now but the tech is there to do all that stuff now if the demand warranted it.
Maybe it won't be long before you fire up your app and find the nearest boozer selling Old Bishops Monkey Hanger, it'll even tell you if the barrel has just run out and might be a few mins before it comes back. It'll tell you how long it takes to walk there, whether you have any friends there at the moment, the average waiting time at the bar, whether you want it pre ordered a minute or two before you arrive or whether you want a taxi called to get you there.
As I said though, only if the demand for knowing that sort of stuff is warranted.
And before anyone says anything yeah I agree I hate the idea of most of the above as well.

Flanders.

I can deal with the odd noisy food packet in a cinema but something now triggers me when people can't go less than two hours in a cinema without checking their phone, lighting up one corner of the cinema.

Was sitting towards the back with my other half watching a film not too long ago when a youngish guy was kept getting his phone out, sending a message or something with a bright white screen then putting it back in his pocket. It happened about 5 times in as many minutes and my other half could tell I was getting agitated . Eventually I got up, went over to him and asked very politely if he could please refrain from going on his phone for the rest of the film because it's beginning to distract a number of people who have paid good money to come and watch this film.

'HE'S AUTISTIC!', boomed the lad's mum sitting next to him. 'Yeah, he's autistic bruv, what's wrong with you?', came another outburst from (presumably) the lad's feral sister who popped her head up from the row in front like a meerkat. It was at this point that I realised I was going to get nowhere with these knuckle-dragging idiots and went and sat back down, but the phone didn't reappear.

Off to see Top Gun tonight biggrin

Two gripes from me today: Firstly I've recently joined a gym (not because I'm a wanna be 'roid clown, but for medical reasons). It's 24 hour access, and I try to go when it's nice and quiet to do my sets and crack on with my day. Except it's not quiet, is it. I'm subjected to a god awful crap pretending to be music leaking through my noise cancelling headphones. To me it's the equivalent of dental drills mixed with an after match interview with a barely literate footballer.

Secondly, trades people, in this case a local garage. I tend to try and support local businesses, based on good feedback, I also don't mind paying a little bit extra for good service. I find it quite baffling in the current financial climate that companies don't seem to want what would be easy money. They can't even be bothered to call back and quote.

Guest ales do tend to change quite frequently but it's rare for most boozers to change their core offering. The brewery will always have its mainstream brands on draught.

Does the Untapped app work for the UK? I have never used it to find beers at a pub, but it does have that functionality. Worked in the US, works a bit in South Korea. Don't know if their are enough users for the data to populate in the UK.

Try getting a plasterer! I tried several, all let me down/didn't get back to me.

Ended going on checkatrade finding the highest rated one, who came the same day to price up the work and did the job 3 days after quoting me. Worked Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Incredible work ethic to be fair.

Wasn't cheap but he was a top bloke and the work was very very good.

Anyway the thing that has annoyed be today was the recycling guys not bothering to empty my recycling box and bag. I literally watched as they drove past my house ignoring my recycling. I was on a teams call so couldn't go and confront them.

Pay loads of council tax, have the smallest rubbish bins to entice people to recycle everything, then don't get the recycling collected. Fantastic service furious
