...stuff about the
£299 got us the powerful sounding 'v6 animal'

being absolutely st.
I've concluded that cordless cleaners are all st, unless all you want to do is either a very quick job on a dry spill, or pretend to yourself you've vacuumed your house because you've on around for 20 mins.

Everyone blames the EU for st vacuums but your V6 Animal cleaner bangs out a whopping 24 watts in normal use, or 100 watts in 'power mode'. A plug in cleaner is limited to 900 watts and a I don't give a st what that tax cheating, Brexit pushing and then off-shoring Dyson says, no amount of cone shaped plastic can compensate for a power difference like that.
+1 - totally agree.

Mrs C n C was insistent that she wanted a cordless cleaner (as she doesn't like to drag the Miele Cat and Dog around, which despite the EU limitations can suck hard enough to lift the carpet).

I did say that cordless cleaners were utter rubbish and that we're not shelling out over £300 on a Dyson, so she got a best reviewed other make one from John Lewis. She thought it was "ok" on day one, but after about a week concluded it was rubbish, so returned it.

Still not listening to me saying that battery powered ones simply cannot match a mains powered one, shortly after some box arrives from QVC with a "better" cordless one. After a couple of weeks, despite ensuring the filters and brush bar are clear, she's concluded that it too is rubbish, so that went back.

I think the latest to arrive (this week) is some mains powered Shark upright, so I'm guessing that at least might have a fighting chance!

Only branded clothes... I had the realisation when watching TV how stupid footballers look in their DSQUARED/GUCCI etc stuff and try to avoid buying clobber with labels now. Don't get me started on Supreme stuff...

He's trying the blokes boots on not sucking his dick!

Mine was a Yamaha MT09, it cost me £2.50 per mile in the 6 months I owned it (4 of them were over winter)

It's still a vomit from me, you don't know where his feet had been.

Paul Dalton Car Shampoo for £40 (which cost me $100nz) for 500ml. Average at best and so much better can be had for less and with greater dilution ratios.

Had a W204 C63 recently which I didn't like. Gearbox felt sluggish, high speed damping felt non-existent and no LSD meant it would spend a fair amount of time just spinning up one rear. Maybe the newer gearbox and LSD would have made it slightly better. It did sound lovely though.

I also had a triumph street triple RS for a few months. Initially quite liked it, but got bored really quickly. Didn't feel much quicker than my F-type at the time and also didn't like the whistly triple sound.

Le Creuset frying pans. Non stick coating coming off quite badly after only a couple years of use.
Suspect user error? Need to be completely anal about not using metal, only wood / plastic implements.
Remove the rest of the coating and season the pans a few times, they will last a lifetime then.
100% never used metal implements on them (wife was very strict). Wondered whether it was related to being put in the dishwasher but all the care instructions seem to suggest that's ok. The non stick coating is peeling from the edges.

Given their rep (and cost), I was v surprised tbh.
Contact them and they will almost certainly replace it free. The stainless ones are much better, they do seem to have some issues with their non-stick ones. The instructions do say dishwashing is OK but we don't put our replacement non-stick in the dishwasher, small price to pay if it keeps it in good nick.

Le Creuset frying pans are not very good IMO.

I went through two frying pans and a sauté pan - all three warped.

Pro Cook now. Much better and much cheaper.

Le Creuset cast iron stuff is fine but eye wateringly expensive. There are equally good and cheaper alternatives.
When our Le Creuset started to not be non-stick any more I bought a Pro Cook. What an absolute piece of junk, worse than cheap Tefal. At least the Le Creuset took about 3 years before stuff started sticking, the Pro Cook was almost instant. The Pro Cook is now underneath the free replacement Le Creuset and unlikely to be used again.

That said, I'll not pay for any more Le Creuset non-stick and will keep to the stainless ones which I love, use every day and have zero issues with. As long as they replace the non-stick ones for free.....

That's the point, with sweaty socks, sweaty feet, yuk vomit

It's like jumping into a warm bed on a submarine after the submariner before you goes on shift. Apart from claustrophobia, that's the other main reason I didn't apply to join the navy yuck

I hate it when you sit down on a warm chair that has just been vacated by somebody you don't know as well hehe

Another vote for le creuset frying pans

Ours is a month old and already flaking

But that’s because I caught the wife whisking an egg for an omelet in the pan with a metal fork

rolleyes

I’ve accepted they are now consumables
We have two and have had them since we got married in 1994, used daily.

Did manage to burn stuff to the bottom the other week but some elbow grease and bicarb boiling away sorted it.

We have Le Creuset.

A casserole thing that was bought for us 30 years ago. Bloody brilliant.

Also a different version, flatter, £240.00 I think, bought a couple of years ago. Also brilliant.

Both will see me out and I'm only 57.

I've got a 10 year old Le Creuset non-stick frying pan here that's used 2-3 times a week, and it's still very much non-stick. There's a couple of ships in the coating around the rim but that's from where I've been clumsy with the lid.

One of the things that kills non-stick coatings faster than anything is the low-calorie 'spray' oils. The lecithin in them basically ruins the coating.

Absolutely boring, numb point and squirt eurobox.

It was rapid and ste in equal measures

Sold after a month incurring a 4k loss.
I had the GTi after the S3 was stolen - no R's for a while so just took what the dealer had. I couldn't agree more with you. After it tried to kill me with it's auto breaking nonsense on the 1st day I was kinda suspect.

Kept it a year but was glad to see the back of it. Absolutely nothing special about them at all.

I hate it with a passion but the wife wanted one.
I'd rather have kept the 058 i had before hand, i always looked back at that car but she got her way as usual.
What didn't you like about it?
