I spent £1200 on a 21 year old SLK as a another and I can't help but love it. With the roof down and the sun out it just makes me feel happy. I'd be really sad to part with it now.
Also, needed a TV for the kitchen. 43" 4k Samsung for £320 odd. Our main TV is an all singing/dancing OLED that cost nearly 10 times as much. But the cheapy set has a decent enough picture and features. An absolute bargain.

Pilot G2 gel pen. Less than 2 Quid each. They write really well and are good enough that you look after them and use until the ink runs out, whereas cheapo biros get lost/borrowed/dried up/etc.
Pears Soap. Costs something like 85p in the Supermarket, Smells nicer and seems much classier than squirty hand wash liquid.
Amazon 'Shave It' own brand razors. Much cheaper than Gillette/Wlikinson-Sword/etc.
Used with Arko brand shaving soap. Turkish and made with animal fat, I believe, which is probably why it is good. I squish the solid tube of soap into a plastic travel soap dish (with lid) and it lasts seemingly forever.

They got me through my professional exams (along with some study) If you're going to have to write 20 sides in 3 hours, you're going to be wanting a comfortable pen.

Cheap (well, not expensive) things that I've bought that I really like - two Raspberry Pi. One runs Pi-Hole so no devices on the house wi-fi get ads, the other running Kodi for catch-up services, Netflix and the like.
Oh and my Squier VM Jazz Fretless bass, better than it's got any right to be for £250.
My other recommendations would be the 19 Crimes wines, also in Asda. There's the basic one, then "Banished" and "Uprising". Now these are pricier at £8 to £10 but again, just superb.
On the other side of the coin is a box of their Cabernet Sauvignon at £9.99. Now at £3.33 per bottle you don't expect much but it is very, very drinkable indeed.

Yes It does just boil one cup / beaker.Yes It does save electricity if your having one beaker.
Much more importantly though it enables a 7 year old young lady to make a cup or beaker with much less chance of hurting herself.
The look of happiness on her face when she makes one is worth gold.
We still have the normal type kettle (we sometimes have 2 out when several family are over) but this hot cup is a delight

You mention finger stretching, this has the thinner jazz bass neck to make that easier, but I'm a guitarist anyway. Great value.
I broke my little finger of my left hand on a dry ski slope and it didn’t set right rendering it pretty much useless and making the guitar really difficult so I swapped to bass and have more fun now. I’ll never be brilliant but I can play along to most pub rock classics!...You mention finger stretching, this has the thinner jazz bass neck to make that easier, but I'm a guitarist anyway. Tried to make a Pot Noodle with one of these, less than a week old.
Splashed water everywhere, burnt all three of my hands causing me to drop the fork on the floor and when I opened the soy sauce sachet it squirted all over me.
We also had at least 15 different cups/mugs in the cupboard, and it did not provide the right amount water for coffee in any of them. Too much or too little.
Good idea, though!

I have one of these and can't stand the bloody thing. My mum had a similar thing a few years ago that worked a lot better. You pressed the dispense button and it trickled out boiling water as fast as it could from a 3kw element. It was great for tea as the brew was already starting moments after the button was pressed. But this thing has to boil the whole cup before dumping it out, so if you need a few drops more you have to wait for it to boil again then hit the emergency stop button to stop it over filling.Similar to this one

However for a person with limited mobility it is good as you could fill the back with a jug and never have to lift the thing up.

I'm in agreement here, I've got three in use regulalry.I paid the man the scrap money (£150) for my Golf. He did just tell me to pay him when I scrapped it, but I am tempted to keep it long term, it's so good.
