What happened to Matt?
He's still around quote=ChemicalChaos]
Next time I give up my Boxing day to answer a callout to ferry district nurses through floodwater to their housebound patients, I'll remember your kind words.
Next time I spend all day standing in the pouring rain, copping vile abuse from entitled members of the public who think they can ignore an approved road closure put in place for the safety of a St George's Day parade, I'll remember your kind words.
Next time I'm running late for work, but stop to tow a broken down car off a dangerous busy road to a nearby carpark, I'll remember your kind words.
Next time I spend a snowy Christmas sober, sleeping with one eye on my phone, I'll remember your kind words.
The next time a handful of people work tirelessly to extract thousands of cars from a rain-soaked festival, I'm sure they'd be overjoyed to hear your kind words.
But hey, what would I know? I'm only a member of a highly professional organisation, trained by time served off road instructors, that the normal emergency services often turn to for volunteer manpower, or logistical help in extreme circumstances.[/quote

Back on topic, TK Maxx often have good jeans at reasonable cost. Pair of Lee jeans for £12 if you are a funny size, or £20 for normal size. Often have Levi's for £50 or less. Beats paying £80 in House of Fraiser for the same thing.
But that means shopping at TK Maxx. What if you're seen? Oh the horror! If you're willing to spend a little extra I can reccomend Iron Heart IH-888s. It is a pretty heavy weight denim at 21oz but the fit is excellent and they soften up well after an initial soak and a couple of wears.
I'd reccomend trying them on and buying the pair that you can only just manage to get buttoned up as the waist will stretch up to 1"

There are roughly two types of guys buying jeans. Those that just want a pair of jeans and will buy ones that fit on the waist and in length. And those that will be much more fussy and compare loads of jeans before they decide on one. If the former then the likes of TK Maxx, Primark, Uniqlo are all perfect. Cheap and does the job.
Last pair I bought was from Massimo Dutti. Like similar shops, h&m, Zara etc, these jeans are not going to last as long as proper denim, but they look stylish and great and they also have a very useful credit card pocket inside the front pocket.

There are also those who's legs/glutes don't correspond to the normal "fit" for their waist. Those that just want a pair of jeans and will buy ones that fit on the waist and in length. Those people try on many pairs of trousers before finding any that fit or that can be adjusted to suit by a tailor (not really practical for denim). Elastic belts are not ideal, but are very useful to these people!
Bit of thread resurrection...
Somewhere I came across a brand of jeans that not only had the usual choice of waist and leg but also thigh size. I've been trying a number of searches on Google but can't find the site again. Does anyone know it?
I'm blessed / cursed with big thighs. I've been going for Gap athletic fit but the 32" waist to fit my legs is still baggy and bunches around the belt buckle. You can get away with it if wearing a jumper / jacket but it's not so good with just a shirt (first world problems and all that).

Spoke jeans are custom fit so you can choose chunky size if that works for you. Somewhere I came across a brand of jeans that not only had the usual choice of waist and leg but also thigh size. I've been trying a number of searches on Google but can't find the site again. Does anyone know it?

They’re not cheap but they fit perfectly.

Thanks - will have another look at them. They’re not cheap but they fit perfectly.
I'd swear blind the company / website I'm thinking of had a drop-on on the item page for thigh size and there was a choice of sizes plus "Standard". Trawling my Google history hasn't turned it up though.
I found these a while back, never tried them, though.

These came up a while back, too -

Not tried them either, I like Levis Denizen, which is one of their budget brands (I find them more comfortable than others).

I quite like the Denizen range too, but I think it’s only sold in the US. I normally pay a visit to Target and grab a few pairs of cheap jeans when I’m over.https://www.makeyourownjeans.com/
