Costco always have Levis in.
Does Costco have stock not listed on their website? I took a look and there's no mention of Levi's at all. Pardon my stupidity, but I've never been in a Costco to know their stock.
Usually some branded and cheapy, but not seen Levis for a while.

OP: you've not mentioned anything about your build / shape? Knowing that might have scrubbed half the answers, or more, from the responses.

Must admit, in my younger days, I used to buy a lot of Paul Smith jeans.

I have been buying Reiss chinos and trousers for work in the past few years, but the quality is generally poor. Can anyone suggest good quality off the peg makers? If I am going to spend forty pounds having them tailored I don't mind paying for good quality cloth.

Have a look at some of the Japanese brands like the Real McCoy’s, Warehouse duck & digger, Stevenson Overalls and my favourite Boncoura m41 chino.

Real nice thick chino cloth used and well made usually get a good a few years wear out of a pair. They age as well as the selvedge denim jeans.

They look like good quality gear, but I am a soft-handed office wallah so need something less heavy and a little smarter.

I've been wearing '7 for all mankind' for a long while now as the denim they use is super soft and holds it shape so no baggy knees after a few hours sitting down.

Spoke might be worth a look. They have varying thigh sizes and a size calculator. I’ve had a few trousers form them and they fit really well. Not the cheapest and some people would prefer a brand at that price.

I'd be happy to buy 10 pairs of any trousers or jeans that fit me.

I'm normal shaped, about 87kg and 5ft8 with 34" waist and a paunch but every pair of trousers i try on seems to be 'wrong' for me. Even at shops like M&S who cater for my sort of age.

The distance between under my bks and the point where the top button or belt line is, appears to be too great and the result is that the paunch pushes them down so they 'ride' lower - maybe 2 inches.

The simple solution is to tighten the belt then fold the belt over and then they're ok.

What am I doing wrong?

Another vote here for 7 for all mankind. I`m hardly skinny but their Slimmys are great.
They are comfortable and soft and are all wearing really well.

I’d definitely go into Tommy Hilfiger when we’re allowed - I’m 5’10 and wear a 30/32 and find them really comfortable and think they look good. If you find something in the range with NOS on the label that’s a bonus too. It means Never Out of Stock - so basically will be around for years once your find the cut/size that you’re happy with.
