Another XC70.......

Conscious there's another thread on these in readers cars, didn't want to derail that!
After four successive products from the LR stable (a D1 V8, a D2 TD5, a 2.7RRS and finally a 3.0RRS), an upgrade was due. Usually aim to buy at about 5 years old and keep for 4, it's worked well for us so far. BUT, for the spec we wanted, £27/£30k for a new shape RRS is madness especially as we don't really need one, we just like them.
So having pondered a bit, I despatched Mrs LFB to look at the XC70 on line as an option. Big boot, nice seats, high up enough for oldies to slide in and out, 4wd for pulling the boat up a slipway and solid enough to keep her safe. A bit to my surprise, we found one locally that she could actually see in the flesh and it got the thumbs up so a deal was done.
It's a D5 Lux with sensible miles, full Volvo history, matching all weather tyres, it seems every option box ticked including a factory fit tow bar. Black leather works nicely with the Bronze (brown!) paint and she loves the power boot opening.
One week in and we're impressed. Easy drive, super comfortable, enough go for what it is and apart from the odd bit of Volvo chrome bling, the looks are growing on us.
It's not a RRS but is that worth £15k more, no way!
