Being digital won't necessarily stop it from being inaccurate though. You'll just have a better idea of the reading, that's all. An accurate gauge is accurate no matter the method used to display the reading.

I know it won't necessarily be more accurate, it's just easier. My current one has a tapered needle, and the bar measurement on an inner dial. So the needle is a quarter of a bar wide!
I bought the cheapest available on eBay 3 years ago. Within three months the rubber hose and perished in a number of places, then had a 2year old e class with the digital read out of tyre pressures on the dash and thought I would check how accurate the gauge was, assuming the merc was correct the gauge was nearly half a bar out.
I guess you get what you pay for. And nearly every garage I've walked into use a pcl analogue gauge which will be my next purchase....

You're right, I was being silly. The digital thing just seemed easier, but when I think about it I don't use it enough and it will only go flat.I guess you get what you pay for. And nearly every garage I've walked into use a pcl analogue gauge which will be my next purchase....
I've just bought an analogue PCL one.
