No idea who anyone listed in this thread is so far
Seriously? You don't recognise one of the most famous film stars in the world or one of the greatest tennis players .
How can you use the internet when you live in a cave?
zero interest in tennis - its literally the most boring game in the world to me.

film star - I assume this is the Dirty Harry one above? never heard of the film at all and didn't know that that was Clint Eastwood until googling it but there again it was released over a decade before I was conceived.

Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart

(Awarded the VC) 'For most conspicuous bravery, coolness and determination during severe operations of a prolonged nature. It was owing in a great measure to his dauntless courage and inspiring example that a serious reverse was averted.'

He was the same man who tore off his own fingers after being refused amputation, survived various plane crashes and dug his way out of a POW camp, but not before getting shot in the face, twice . He was once quoted saying "Frankly I had enjoyed the (1st World) war."

Cool bloke.

Do you not even know who the man labelled as John Glen and dressed as an astronaut might be?

It would be better if people put a name with their picture rather than just assume we all know who they are.

I’ll nominate James Hunt. A world champion F1 driver who did what the hell he wanted while being universally liked and not caring what anyone thought about him.

It's interesting how we venerate entertainers (musicians/actors), like there aren't millions of them and they actually do anything important...

Just to avoid any confusion, astronauts John Young (pictured earlier) and John Glenn are two different people.
