I think some people just have 'it', whatever 'it' is, no matter what their profession....

Don't know who that is, but if it wasn't his Ferrari he's leaning against he's only a step away from this guy:

Dude leaning against the Ferarri is James Coburn and it probably is his car to be honest.

I think this thread depends on your definition of cool really and that in itself could open up a whole new argument so i'll not get into that one.

My nomination is

Rachel Atherton - mulitple time world downhill mtb champion and one of the few if not the only person to have a perfect season in a fairly hard sport.

I'd quite like to. What do we think are the common attributes of 'cool? I'd suggest a certain sang froid and a tendency to not appear to care too much about what people think are usually present.

I haven't got the slightest idea who that is but it is definitely the worst example of someone cool.

I have to be honest. I thought you were actually serious with those two.
Sorry, I realise no-one could think they were cool. You should have put an emoji on it to show that you were joking.

Could have been taken today (well, with masks), not 50 years ago.

Ha I knew when I typed 50 years ago, somebody would date it by the car and tell me I was a few years out! I think it's closer to 40 years ago.

A man held in such high esteem by Honda that they thought nothing of providing him with a factory-spec engine from Aaron Slights World Superbike team plus a special swing-arm, a crew of HRC technicians, two Showa suspension engineers and Aaron Slights mechanic for the 2000 F1 TT

And during the off season he would drive van loads of food and blankets etc to eastern European orphanages because 'it was the right thing to do'
