A man held in such high esteem by Honda that they thought nothing of providing him with a factory-spec engine from Aaron Slights World Superbike team plus a special swing-arm, a crew of HRC technicians, two Showa suspension engineers and Aaron Slights mechanic for the 2000 F1 TT

And during the off season he would drive van loads of food and blankets etc to eastern European orphanages because 'it was the right thing to do'
I remember Dunlop being interviewed after that 2000 TT race, and he was asked what they key was to being so fast.

"Oh, I don't know. Anyway I wasn't that fast"

Top man

Ive met some cool people- but the ones that really blew me away by their confidence and charisma were...

Prince Charles and Peter Stringfellow!

Im no big fan of the royals but have never seen a guy wear a suit so well, it looked like he had stepped from the fridge! Reminded me of the film casino where Sam keeps his trousers in the fridge!!

And Mr Stringfellow, full of self ridicule and positive character.

I haven't got the slightest idea who that is but it is definitely the worst example of someone cool.
Depends what your perspective is on ‘what’ cool is?

It’s Hunter S. Thompson

Yep, he was cool alright, even when he saw his grandmother climbing up his leg with a knife clenched in her teeth.

Brian Ferry, always sub zero.

Eddy Merckx efficiently eclipsed rival pro's careers.

Kate Bush, always shunned the limelight when she could, but remains an enigma.

It amusing that so many people have posted movie stars.

Hint: they have a whole industry devoted to making them appear 'cool'.

This whole thread proves once again that the age profile of piston heads is rather old. I wonder what the average age of forum posters is.

The surprisingly talented Marc Rebillet, who appears to be able to make a reasonable living from dancing around his living room in his pants.

A few examples from his improv livestreams (not entirely SFW)

Tony Bruno CEO of United Launch Alliance.

Saw him on Smarter Every day's YouTube interview. Incredibly charismatic leader.

Worth a watch if you like engineering and / or rockets.

The man has a hard hat in the shape of a stetson FFS.... Legend!
