Honest question - Not Laced ? as in conventional bow.... what am I missing ?
My new balance end up way too tight with the laces left over too long, therefore I guess I've answered my own question perhaps ?
Same, I end up doing a bow and then tuck the laces in the side. Looks awful irked
Best way Ive found is elastic laces and the "anchors"

https://www.xpandlaces.com/products/no-tie-origina...

Are the ones I've got currently in my Cortez. Obviously I straight bar lace all my everyday shoes. wink

But Mr Lacy make elastic flat laces that work with sneakers and you can get the plastic "anchor" shapes on eBay and the like.

https://laceanchors.com/collections/lace-anchors/p...

When I can be bothered. I plan to get some round ones for use in my more formal shoes as well.

Damm, those lace anchors are clever - and neat too, assuming you can't see them whilst wearing the shoes?

I don't don't mind tying traditional bows but I can see the appeal of these.

no weight at all, the Nike zoom step down ones are better for the street, especially in the UK as they will have some splash protection. those were my last pair and I posted them up in the thread - the Nike zoom tempo next %.

these newer runner specials have no splash protection, less grip but they are great street trainer in warmer climates with little rain, rough , uneven pavements and steep inclines.

Must be just me that ties my laces in the old fashioned way... I haven't tried to hide the ends/bows or any of that stuff for donkeys years. Life's too short for all that hehe Albeit I tie mine juuuust tight enough that I can just about slip them on an off with a finger at the heel, and they don't move about when I wear them.

Some laces, yesterday.

If you want to rock the "bunny ears" thats up to you. laugh So cute!

I'll assume you also own a

wink

Seriously though, how much cleaner does this look in comparison! And if you have elastic laces you can have them tight enough and still get them on and off easily.

I've only been into trainers for about 30 years, so I'm fairly familiar with the tricks, methods and looks.

I've tried it all and done it all, but thanks for looking out.

I mean, each to their own, but I'm not a fan of this look -

[url]|https://forums-images.pistonheads.com/176806/202404226837177[/url

The only trainers that I have that aren't laced with trad bows, are my Air Max 1s, which I use the built-in lace locks - everything else is bow laced.

Personally, I think that looks pretty rubbish.

But that's just my opinion of course smile

IMO superstars looked crap laced like that. That trainers needs a thicker lace, preferably crossed over and definitely through the tongue eye thingy

I think they look OK, but I can hear Run DMC turning in their graves from here!

Personally, I bunny ear my laces but I'm a desperately uncool man in his 40s who long ago stopped caring what others think of my clothing.

For me, it's not about what others think, it's about my own sense of aesthetics.

I think a well tied bow knot is more aesthetically pleasing than the examples above.

As I say though, the only trainers I don't lace are my Air Max 1s, where I use the shoe's own lace locks and I do concede that they look much neater without the bow.

Other than that? Meh. Don't care.

Depends on the shoe for me.

Originals I tuck. I come ‘up’ the penultimate lace hole and back down into the top hole on the same side. This creates enough tension to keep the laces tight.

I have Reebok classics on today with bunny ears.
