I didnt even grow up into them, as a family we could afford them its just something I wasn't bothered about. I also doubt I could persuade my mum into spending £60+ on a pair of trainers smile

Now me and my brother share it as an interest, speak about them all the time! I also find the history of it all interesting.

It's what you make of it I guess, Danny on here, does a podcast, YouTube channel and regular meet ups. For him it's massive, for others it's just a bit of fun every now and then. I'm somewhere in between.

For me it’s a bit of fun… I only do the podcast/YouTube stuff as I’ve got plenty of time on my hands and it’s an interest… I’d have done the car thing but it’s more time consuming and access isn’t as easy.

As for the scene changing… definitely has over the 20+ years I’ve been into it. Even more so these last 5 or so as trainers/sneakers are THE thing on social media/Instagram. I just try and connect with authentic people, be they oldies or newbies… are you into trainers because you like trainers, or are you into it for the flex? I’ve very little time for the latter

Agree with both Josh & Danny's points above yes

I also really like the nerdier aspects of trainers - like 80's / 90's film references, and cool stuff like the NASA connection to the Air Tailwind, and the story behind the Waffle Racers - for just a couple of illustrations.

I also really dig well thought-out collaborations and designs.

Probably not everyone's taste, but these arrived at the weekend:

Into rotation with these:

Being closer to 50 than 40, thinking about toning the hues down a bit.

With my post in regard to the scene I mean like in terms of interesting collabs and what went into it and the presentation of it. Like the crooked tongues new balance or the adiclolors that came in the wooden art box with paint and stuff? You dont get any of that anymore. 2 of my favourite shoes in my collection are the puma suede x diamond supply and the am90 laser blue from the og pack in like 2014 was it? The pumas forge brand collab and having the diamond branding on it and the 90s for the og homage. We need staple dunks back and all the goodies.

I politely disagree… you just need to file through the overhyped garbage to find the little gems

Above mentioned the Hanon ZX, but there’s plenty of other in store collabs that are really good

Bangers, ones that look average in photos and amazing in the flesh!

I think this is the problem, why are food and trainers a good combo, when your going to grab a kebab you dont think about what shoes you chuck on! Its a pointless colab just for the sake of it.

The artwork is cool, the trainer is OK apart from the brown, could color not have drawn more on the greek culture and history side of things rather than the gyros!! I mean they skate in one of the most historical cities on the planet couldn't they have worked with that!!

Unless I have missed something and kebabs, color skate shop and nike have some special relationship!

As above, once you sift through the ste and tedious hype releases, there are loads of decent collabs going on.

New Balance, Diadora, Saucony, Roos, Puma, Asics... Loads of interesting stuff going on. Admittedly some collabs are a bit lacklustre and just seem to expect to get carried along by the very fact that they're a joint venture, but there's definitely really decent stuff out there.

Some brands release such good GR shoes that they shame many collaborative efforts, particularly NB with some of their MiUSA and UK releases, Karhu, Mizuno etc. Some of the Diadora N9000 Made In Italy GRs are outstanding.

Question- is Crep Protect still the one everyone uses? Or is there anything better now?

I’ve used it in the past, prefer using liquiproof or the reshoevn8r products though to be honest.
