I wasn’t really into the ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ scene, but my mate / neighbour was... he did try a few times though.
I can just remember, loads of little groups scattered around the school huddled, muttering & flicking through various volumes of God knows what... each to their own I suppose.
The Games Workshops still freak me out... as I scurry by.
I think the ‘ Big Bang Theory’ portrayed it a few times.

I got bought this when I was about 10 but it came with no rules in it. Never did figure out how to play it.

To be honest, from memory.... you’re not missing much.
( There certainly were some real weird games then)
