Back in the 70s my music teacher had one of those.

He also had one of the sixth form girls too, but that's a different story

I would've loved to have traveled Chicago > Los Angeles on the Santa Fe Chief back in the 1950's

1953 Gibson EB1
Didn't sell well. Only a few hundred made.

Hofner pinched the violin design in 1955 and once The Beatles came along
it made a lot of dosh for Hofner. The Gibson original is almost forgotten
but is a superior beast.

An original, unmolested example goes for £3K-£5K.

Me too
There are a couple of guys in the historic rallying world who use these in anger for regularity timing.
I was going to buy one honestly just a few years ago, but then I thought it's not worth spending $300-$400 on something that I'm just going to look at on the shelf. Even SisterD said she'll buy it as an early xmas pressie but said nah... And now:

Do you need to have bought some Porsche earbuds, then over-the-head, er headphones, then a previous soundbar before even being considered good enough to throw >£9k at that rofl

And is the zip up the back of your head visible from space...
