Just spiced-out Spacemen?

Oh, "Rhinos"...

I thought you said "Winos". wobble
That's nothing. My earworm today is Apeman by The Kinks.

Don't get me wrong, I like The Kinks. It's just Apeman isn't the track I would choose to have on repeat all day.

Morning all.

Afraid I can't be of service with your kinky earworm, maybe you need to listed to it to exorcise the primate demon.

A TT meet in Norfolk? Well I could try to rock up at that. We have an office in that there Norwich wot I can and probably ought to go to from time to time.

GR, Good to hear that the outlook for Errant Boy is somewhat improved. Hope he keeps the regular engagement with the MH team and doesn't fall into the blasé "everything's fine so I don't need to carry on with this" trap.

Drinks with work were fun last night and I actually managed to discipline myself enough to clear off home at midnight so I'm only slightly fuzzy of noggin this morning.

IOTN My mum is picking up boy number one and coming over for tea this evening. I'm making a lasagne. Better get my tomatoes on to roast for the marinara sauce.

Is this EB?
Haha! No, your Scrumpiness, EB wasn't born until 1985.

No kestrels were harmed by EB, but the fingers are of a similar disposition. yes

I had a 124 coupe (RHD) in the 1970s for a short time - admittedly not a very good example - bought cheap and proved very difficult to sell on. Looked nice, but It was a very temperamental car, no great demand for them at the time.
By coincidence, sorting through some old papers yesterday, I came across the details:

1968 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe, bought in April 1973 at British Car Auctions, £360.
Spent quite a lot of time and money sorting out various problems and used it as a daily for a short while.
Advertised it for sale in the November issue of Motor Sport at £525, no interest.
Eventually sold it through Exchange and Mart in January 1974 for the same £360 I paid for it.

Just checked on the DVLA site and, unsurprisingly, it does not seem to have survived.

Not quite white Tickford territory, but typical of the many and various now desirable cars available to an impecunious enthusiastic youth at the time.

Why do you allow a bunch of insignificant Internet idiots to get under your skin enough to withdraw from Pistonheads?

Well I'm finally home, a spot of luncheon, leftover Indian takeaway from last night, a short relax and then I shall change into my raggedy urchin dress and commence Cinderbobbering!!!!

It isn't just the internet though Bobbers, it's everywhere. I might be wrong but since the pandemic hit, i would suggest that the vast majority of people have become selfish aholes and i just can't be bothered to deal with them anymore as they drain the enjoyment out of everything.

IOTN - tonights quiz will be at 7 - 7.30 ish, depends if i can get on to my laptop and get some questions down before Lady Slopes starts watching mindless rubbish Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
Hopefully this week there will be more attendees*

* fingers crossed

Hippopotamus on the line at Clapham Junction?
I once had to report livestock on the line at Flitwick in Bedfordshire, a large and very confused looking cow. The odd thing was, there are no fields with cows in anywhere near Flitwick station, just a small enclosure with a few ponies, I've still no idea how it got there!

PS : later today I shall be picking up a train of troublesome trucks at Melton Mowbray, does anyone want any pork pies whilst I'm there?

I used to live near Leagrave Station, two stops south of Flitwick.

A few years ago, he'd more likely collect a 'linesman's pasty'* across the back of his 'ed!

* A linesman's pasty: a well-filled disposable nappy, loosely folded into a triangular shape and lobbed out of one of those pull-down windows of an HST passenger carriage at speed with no regard to the unfortunate and unwary Network Rail minion wafting his spray wand of Roundup to and fro beside the track in an effort to keep the purple loosestrife growth down to a tolerable level... yikes

No but you can shout hello to my nephew and his wife if you like. Having lived there for the better part of 20 yrs, Pork Pie's kind of lose their appeal somewhat.

He's certainly made a right old mess of that tree!

I think the poor chap has issues and needs help.
Mme Magoo is a very caring lady Samaritan to deliver him home like that. bow
Yes she's a good egg!

The man needs to be looked at by a shrink. It's as simple as that.

The front of the car looked worse. I saw it being recovered this morning. Him and his mrs just standing there watching.
He won't realise how lucky he was to come out of it unhurt and he won't realise or appreciate the fact that the person that came to his aid hates him and didn't phone the police.
A total prick!

Good morning everyone.

Gloating I am!
Madame M returned from work yesterday evening and was a bit animated!
She had arrived on the scene of an accident just a minute before our place.

A Red Renault Kadjar had gone through the hedge and smashed up proper.
Who owns a car like that?
Yes! That bd little neighbour of mine!

He was just stumbling out of the car and he was pissed (unusual to be fair).
She only took him home away from the scene and told his wife to take him for a checkup!

I can't say I'm pleased about that bit but glad the bd is suffering.
He certainly won't be needing his key fob I found and concreted in the floor!

Hopefully the hospital called the police.
Karma is such a wonderful thing yes
France?

Many is the time I have sat in Matha in the evenings watching the French wobble home on mopeds, bikes and weaving in cars after a good night in the cafe...

Yes. If your caught drink driving here it's usually met with "unlucky mate" comments.

Matha is about 40 mins from me.
