I've never understood the appeal of Melton Mowbray pork pies. The filling is all grey and manky. Yorkshire pork pies with the pink insides are far better in my opinion. I have one most Saturdays from Wilson's in Morley. Triffic.

I'll try to attend the quiz tonight but with mother being over for tea I may be busy so here are some provisional answers just in case:

Pickles
126mph
Doncaster, Douglas, Port Stanley and Wrexham
Chocolate
Graham and Damon Hill

That should do it.

Morning all. No rhinos in the High Street yet!
Hippopotamus on the line at Clapham Junction?
I once had to report livestock on the line at Flitwick in Bedfordshire, a large and very confused looking cow. The odd thing was, there are no fields with cows in anywhere near Flitwick station, just a small enclosure with a few ponies, I've still no idea how it got there!

PS : later today I shall be picking up a train of troublesome trucks at Melton Mowbray, does anyone want any pork pies whilst I'm there?

No but you can shout hello to my nephew and his wife if you like. Having lived there for the better part of 20 yrs, Pork Pie's kind of lose their appeal somewhat.
I'll give them a toot and a wave as I pass by byebye

After/morn/eve all! wavey

Am advised by Benson that my attendance in the Resident's Lounge is necessary, this very eve, to partake of the TTFNSQ, and no mistake.

Are there pre-quiz amusements, or some such distractions? I understand pies are available courtesy of our very own pie distributor, collected by an athlete of Olympic standard, to scoff them on the way provide residents with a mid quiz snack!

One (1) hour to go, and have my sharpened 2HB at the ready....

Glenrobbo once had the opportunity to buy a White Tickford Capri Turbo, complete with a white leather interior that belonged to one Harry Webb - Cliff Richard to the rest of the world - but turned it down during his career as a motor trader.

If he had bought it, he could have turned a decent profit and if he still had it now, it would be worth a lot

And as a bunch of piss taking bds fun loving wacky types, we like to remind him regularly hehe

Questions have been assembled and i think a good cross section of general stuff this week.

Sit yeself down, grab a beer and listen carefully.......
Once upon a long ago a certain mature resident of our realm, famed for his ability to make OSH, whisky and assorted food stuffs disappear, had the opportunity to purchase a particularly rare white, with white leather Tickford Capri formally owned by none other than Sir Harry Webb, the aforementioned resident declined the opportunity and has rued the decision ever since, now, being a caring, thoughtful, friendly bunch, none of us ever bring that decision up, ever, nope, not at all!!!! smile

WE, of a certain generation, don't mention cars that we owned or missed.

Did I tell you about the mk1 Ford Escort Mexico, in full rally spec, which I once owned?

Bugger, I have....

Oh well, at least I didn't mention the .........

IOTN: A110 still under investigation! Too busy atm to try, and the 'ousemade's(sic) knee might preclude the purchase, we'll see how it goes?

This evening I have prepared a gourmet meal of new potatoes, mixed salad and Tennessee Style marinated steaks

Unfortunately, the steaks are as tough as new cowboy boots and are testing my limited remaining gnashers to their extreme.... a great diameter, as they are very tasty. lick

I think I shall have to cut the remaining four of the pack of six into thin strips and slow cook them into tender submission to use with a stir-fry noodle culinary creation.

My first OSH of the evening has been poured

Counting down for the SlopesQuiz...
