I just clicked on to Page 543, but it said "Nothing to see here".
I tried in vain to take a screenshot, but it failed.
What's going on???

Morning all,

I've woken early, either due to not enough wine or too much last night.

Good morning.
@ Paua. What's t weather like generally in Feb,March n Avril? Down you're way like.

Official drought and hose pipe ban from tomorrow in this area.
Two pools to fill today then! Which means pumps to plumb in etc first.

We have our French neighbours here at the little holiday house next door for the weekend. For the first time thier hot water has let them down.
A good job Chris n Bev arrive tomorrow as I shall put him straight to work. (Heating engineer/ plumber)

Indeed Dicky, that would make an interesting 'family tree' of motoring connections, and no mistake.

Have you started yet?
Yes.

In my head.
I’ve made a start on the Italian connection of the motoring family tree - Gianpaulo Dallara (Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini) is Guilio Alfieri’s (Maserati and Lamborghini) cousin.

Giorgietto Giugiaro left Bertone in late ‘65 (replaced by Marcello Gandini) to join Ghia to design amongst others the new Maserati Ghibli under Giulio Alfieri’s leadership, he then left to form Ital Design, at about the same time Alessandro De Tomaso bought Ghia. De Tomaso also attempted to buy Maserati in 1968 but Citroen beat him to it, he later bought Maserati in 1975 and fired Alfieri who found his belongings piled up in the factory courtyard. De Tomaso later sold Ghia to Ford but continued using Ford engines in his Mangusta, Pantera and Deauville cars.

Back in late 1962 when Ferruccio Lamborghini decided to outdo Ferrari he poached some of his top men including Dallara and four others all of whom had previously worked for Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lancia and Fiat. In 1975 Dallara left to set up his own engineering consultancy and racing car company.

And breathe.... wink

It's Robboppetlet's 4th Birthday and a bit of a celebratory do is scheduled commencing at 14:00hrs.

I'm sitting here on the midden heap contemplating the ban on plastic drinking straws, and why they are now supplying paper straws: in a plastic wrapper, glued to the side of those little cartons of fruit juice?

It makes no sense whatsoever. confused

What will they be doing with the plastic in our pocket?

Biodegradable bank cards?

I need more tea.

That's a jolly good question glenrobbo, not only bank cards, but a multitude of other stuff!!!

I went back to sleep after my earlier post, I'm actually up and about this time, contemplating where to go for a walk, I'll be avoiding the Trivton canal as there's a fishing contest there today, though just what they hope to catch in that stagnant cess pool i have no idea!?!?

Good morning, all!

Plan A for today was a trip to somewhere in the Meon Valley in the company of Little Miss O'Logical, my future daughter-in-law and a very small and excitable Chihuahua puppy called Peanut, in order to partake of the generosity of one of the cricket clubs that my son plays for.

Plan B appears to be for me to stay at home, having back pain.

Oh well. Co-Codamol and the Spanish Grand Prix it is, then.

I hope that the rest of you have a good day!

Morneve Magoo, Feb is generally th hottest month ( like July to mid Aug up your neck o' th woods). March usually still hot & April is shoulder season.
NZ covers a lot of latitude ( 34S to 47S) - 34 S is 2040 naut miles from th equator, 47S is 2820 naut miles. 1 deg of lat is 60 nm = 111 km - shoulder season in th nth remains warmer for longer than in th sth.
Dunedin, at 45S is halfway 'twixt equator & Sth Pole. Think Aquitaine/ Piedmont - Turin

Great day at the museum yesterday, weather was changeable but the Vulcan must be the biggest umbrella ever but unfortunately is a static wind tunnel too.

Got home to a mad Mother in Law celebrating the Macams victory at Wembley. Watched Rob and Romesh attempting to be Strong men, nearly spilt my chicken fried rice everywhere it was so funny.

Today, off to collect a dedication from the local Triviton artist to go with a painting we have bought for our friends wedding present next week, Mind you they may not be friends if she hasn’t written it right!

I have that daily and have done for over 20 years, i just learnt to live with the pain*

* the downside is that i have given myself a twisted torso trying to relieve the pressure on my sciatic nerve and also given myself a case of scoliosis at the same time. Entirely self inflicted
