For dinner this evening, I have salmon fillets ( best before yesterday )
or a selection of party snacks from the cold buffet which will be uncovered at approx 16:00hrs in celebration of Daughter #2's Surprise 40th Birthday.

scratchchin I suppose I could cook the salmon for breakfast instead.
A nice Gordon Bennetdickt thing with a poached egg on top and SPAM. lickyum

I have just noticed that Mrs Robbo hasn't returned the bottle of tonic back to the 'fridge. yikes

Does she expect me to drink warm G&T all day?
I think it's about time I had a new patio extension...

I shall venture forth after dawn in search of another big bag of fresh ice cubes.
I'm not keen on that frozen stuff.

Have you noticed how the nights have started closing in now?
Not you paua, your days have started getting longer now. Jammy git. smile

G'morneve evribody, You're not wrong, GR, but th few seconds extra are not yet apparent. Sun still slips behind th mountains not long after 4 pm. Folks on th peninsula get nearly an hour longer. At our last home we lost th sun at 2 ( bottom slopes of th mountain), but th view were fab.
Speaking of fab, I've just seen Paul ( on th evenin' news) headlining that there festival of Glastonbury. I know his voice isn't what it was, but I'd'a liked to 'ave been there.

Gud moaning all!

As you can see, I'm up bright and surly on this lovely morning, on account of being treated to a slightly late Fathers' Day breakfast by Little Miss O'Logical, at my favourite breakfastery, for which we haven't set orf yet. It will be nice when we get there, I'm sure.

ION, I treated the mighty Up! to a new sidelight/DRL bulb yesterday, on account of the DRL part of the old one deciding to cease to function. It's a very easy job in comparison with my much-missed Honda S2000, thankfully - a bulb change on the Honda required the partial removal of the inner wing liner, and the total removal of the front bumper, which was held in place by approximately 27 fittings, ranging from self-tapping screws through to a variety of small bolts. To change a bulb. The S2000 was an inspired design in many ways, but ease of bulb-changing was not one of them.

Hey-ho. After brekkie I'm intending to spend most of the day watching the Test match. O'Logical Jr emerged from his match in Pawtsmuff yesterday unstabbed, but having aggravated a side strain, which curtailed his season last year. His bowling hero is the magnificent James Anderson, and he seems to be matching England's greatest ever bowler in the injury stakes as well.

Best we can do in response to glenrobbo's request. It's a bit of a "cut & shut" to be honest but I think we'll get away with it smile

That's a cracking effort Bomma, you can barely see the join!!
The Magic Roundabout always makes me smile, and wonder just what they were taking!!!
It looks like the weather is suitable for us to get a bike ride in this morning, and if it stays OK I'll clean both the cars this afternoon!!

Shame about O'logical Jr aggravating his injury Dermot O'logical, enjoy your breakfast with Little Miss O'Logical!!

Hello and welcome, everyone, to another brand new bright sunshiny day. wavey

Hopefully Team Dwarf & Looney will be along in a mo to remind us all where we're up to regarding days of the week/weekend.

Sorry to hear O'Logical Jr has aggravated an old injury, D O'L, I hope it can be alleviated with a bit of Fizzy O and some embrocation. We need our future cricketers in top form.

Paua, I didn't watch Macca's Glastonbury performance on TV yesterday, and I've been a fan since the '60s, but I think he has long passed his best, and should now hang up his larynx and let the younger ones carry on. I would much prefer to hear Knowall Gallagher's High Flying Birds these days.

IOTN, Last evening we went to watch Robbopoppet performing in her Dance Academy Spectacular at the Festival Theatre.
It was a very well presented show, first class production, fab costumes, great choreography, superb lighting, good sound ( if a tad loud ), eclectic mix of songs, and above all, very polished dancing from all age groups, and the tiny tots were just adorable.
I thought it might get a bit tedious after a while, but I thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. It was far better than a lot of stuff they air on the Beeb these days
Of course, in my view, Robbopoppet stole the show.
She's a natural: poised, elegant, confident, graceful, and with perfect timing. cloud9
Well done Robbopoppet! clap

Later today, we are going to a surprise 40th Birthday party at Daughter #1's house for Robbopoppet's Mum, who also happens to be Daughter #2.
She has probably worked out that she will be 40 tomorrow, but she has no idea what has been arranged for her or who will be attending... partywoohoo

That's all for now, folks.
Carry on thumbup

Marvellous! wink
Thanks Bom, that's just perfect! cloud9

Stardog? I thought Dougall was the Star Dog?
I know that most of them were stoned out of their minds for most of the time back then. hippywobble

Instant childhood flashback alert : does anyone remember the little plastic Magic Roundabout toys that came in packets of cereal in the '70s...? My eldest sister used to collect them and flog them to here schoolmates!

IOTN, I've just been told that my serial shagger maternal Grandfather was even more of a serial shagger than we all thought, it turns out that a fourth 'little family' on the side has been discovered in South West London. Blimey, he were a bit of a lad and no mistake.

Riding a bike whilst dining?
I see. nono

Is that safe, Bobbers? Isn't there a risk of your napkin blowing away into the traffic?

And it might be perceived as a sign of surrender by an aggressive motorist.

I must try that Silicon lemonade sometime.

After my weetabix breakfast, I was still a bit peckish, so for my brunch I have made myself Eggs Benedict.
Very tasty, and not bad for my first attempt.

The trick is to add the melted butter a little at a time to prevent curdling.

I know Grandbomma had a fluffy Dougal, it's probably still around somewhere.

Some good racing here at a cold and grey Croft. No spoilers but the Ginetta Juniors are well worth a watch if anyone is planning to view on catch up.

I remember the tiny plastic submarines you crammed with so much baking soda they'd sink but once sunk the baking side would effervesce and drive the submarine upwards. That was the principle anyway. Mine lay on their sides on the surface like poisoned fish. Cornflakes I think they came with. We tended to only have Cornflakes except on holiday. Make do, mend and don't go frittering money away on fancy breakfast cereal was my mother's motto.
