Not a celebrity except in small circles but I was sad, although not surprised, to hear of the death of 'Lofty' Carr, one of my personal 'heroes'. A character amongst characters as one of the founding members and chief navigators of the LRDG in WWII. When the founder, Bagnold, heard of his skill at navigation he wanted him to join, but...."His commanding officer refused to let him go, however, so Bagnold sent two military policemen to fetch him." smile

A very good innings.

A shame.
Fantastic film.
Usually when you go back and watch something from your childhood it's nowhere near as good as you remember, but Tremors is an exception to that and is pretty much the perfect b movie. Even the effects still look good.

I think she's laughing at Charles.

Who's having the better time? Charlie boy in the Lords or Queenie with her cuddies?

Such a good movie. Great rapport with Kevin Bacon. I looked out for him afterwards but it doesn’t seem that it boosted his career as much as it should have done.

The name won’t be familiar to many, but comic book artist George Pérez died earlier this month. When I was reading comics in the late ’70s he was doing excellent work on the Avengers. He then went on to make a big success of Teen Titans.

I liked the music he composed for the TV series, Cosmos.

He also had a couple of singles chart entries with Jon Anderson.
