A lot of the humour seems to be very similar to the "Carry On....." movies which might have been side-splitting in the 1970's but haven't aged well (IMHO)
I watched a couple of ‘Carry Ons’ over Christmas, along with a few Benny Hills. They make you smile & chuckle, but I agree, it’s more nostalgia than belly laughs now.

Except 'Carry on Up the Khyber' - that one is a classic. I'm amazed that it still being shown apparently intact.

A bit of ‘Tiffin’, Flashing & Blackening up... no worries.

The Two Ronnies got quite near the knuckle too... still funny.
Like some of these above, it’s just the simple gestures & expressions that can convey the humour: biglaugh

You are absolutely correct. I can sit through most 60s and 70s comedy without so much as a titter.

But isn't it a shame that people are not allowed to decide for themselves what they find funny / appropriate?

I am not so much referring to postcards as TV comedy that has been cancelled. It really is pandering to the thickos who can't help but become offended because they cannot differentiate the past from the present.

This one has just properly set me off for some reason rofl

This is a great thread, a totally original idea and I love the old saucy postcard humour, Carry On films etc. They’re very retro and remind me of simpler times. Also they fit in well with my sophisticated modern man image thumbup
