Managed it in five, more by luck than by judgement. Byrdle was a struggle until I switched to Latin.

Does anyone here play Waffle? It's on wafflegame.net.

It's a grid of 6 five letter words, with letters on tiles that you swap around. You get a certain number of attempts at moving tiles, and get a score of 0-5 stars (or a fail) depending how many moves you need to get the while grid green.

That might take a few goes to get the hang of, failed the 5x5 daily, got the 7x7 'deluxe' weekly with 0 remaining. https://wafflegame.net/daily

Agree - notably that a letter on a vertical/horizontal intersection can be yellow even if it's not one of the words but is in the other! That may have caught me out a little - failed the 5x5 but only needed one more swap.

Today's Wordle was easier for me - 4 letters in my opening word helped, albeit none of them in the right spot!

Today's was quite hard - they do vary quite a bit from day to day. I only got one star today but other days are fairly easily to get 4 or 5 star scores. One thing about Waffle is that you can play games from previous days. They don't count towards a streak, but they are good for practice. Just look for the archive section. One thing that's quite handy is your streak is only reset to zero when you actually fail to get it right. If you just forget to do it one day, that doesn't matter - you keep your score.

The weekly 7x7 allows you to carry on to completion, no matter how many goes it takes. I don't think I've ever had scored than 2 stars on that one anyway, it's very easy to start guessing especially as you don't get the corners pre-filled. Does it end in an S? Or a D? Or maybe the R? You can waste lots of tries guessing on those.
