Awoke this morning at about 7 to find it still dark we were in so much low cloud.
Currently mild, grey with persistent light rain.

Pickering, Yorkshire. (So far north for me that I have a nosebleed) rain just beginning. Apparently, it will last for five hours.

Up here they STILL have a hosepipe ban!!!!
Confused, did Pickering give you the nosebleed?

All of Thames waters area is under a hosepipe ban, too. Supposedly it could last in to 2023!

Crikey!

There's no restriction in NE Suffolk. Even though it didn't rain between early May and mid September.

We’ve got one in Hants as well. Although it was largely because of the river levels one of which is now back to normal, the other improving.

You only have to look at where the Derwent and Ladybower reservoirs used to be to see why there's still a ban! They're almost totally empty.

Anyway...Oxford
9am... still dark, grey and very wet
11am... 18/19 degrees in the shade, very warm and humid. Brilliant sunshine

Yep. Ladybower a few days ago : https://flic.kr/p/2nU1D5P . Hency why we should be collectively celebrating any rainfall that comes our way. The more the better.

Here in West Berks, had heavy rainfall and thunder over breakfast this morning followed by a glorious day with 17-19degC sunshine spent working in the garden in tee shirt, shorts and wellies. Now back to thick grey skies, rolling thunder and lightning heading our way and rain just started.

More importantly have just discovered a Cherry Bakewell Pie and Waitrose Madagascar Vanilla Custard lurking in the fridge freezer...it's time to turn on the oven lick

I think there was a good show of it over Berks/N Hants/Surrey. I got caught it in near Wokingham and it was a lot of rain, and thunder and lightning.

Back home in West Berks and it looks like there’s been much the same here as some of the usual suspects have flooded. (Roads and fields only)

In MK. Just peered out the window to see if it was over and big fork lightening across the sky.

Somewhat ironic that we had to wait until mid-October for the longest, loudest, brightest thunderstorm of the year in MK.
