Someone has to beat me to it - I was a few hours late on this one. Always first on the snow thread - I'm such a child.
Meanwhile Porthmadog 20.7C today and Northolt 20.5
Lovely isn’t itMeanwhile Porthmadog 20.7C today and Northolt 20.5
Anyone claiming to still put their heating on either is seriously sick or doesn’t really have any issue with affordability.
My thermostat has kicked in each morning to take the chill off. It's only set to 18, but it's obviously cold enough overnight to need that little kick. We all have covid but are not seriously sick, and I also don't like pissing money away for the sake of it, but I'm not turning it off.

You do make some silly statements.

Looking at that and especially with the leaf I suspect we both have nests? My thermostat has kicked in each morning to take the chill off. How do you get it in the phone / I’ve never bothered but would be good to have it

Yes it's a nest. You need to download the nest app basically. It's pretty straight forward from there. You can also set it to know your phone location so if both phones (assuming two in the house) go out it'll automatically turn down the thermostat to your eco temperature to save money. How do you get it in the phone / I’ve never bothered but would be good to have it

It is not time for the summer thread until Colin has gone into hibernation or at least started complaining about it being too hot.
Hopefully that won't happen now as I've moved up North.I did note that 20 something C was recorded today in Northolt, and that'd be more or less the same where we've moved from. Today up here I saw 17c on the car, which generally over-read, so I reckon an actual 15c.
I'll happily take that difference and unless it get super stinking hot, I don't intend to moan or hibernate.... but probably will anyway.
I have also just splashed on a full whole house multi split aircon system at the new place, so all bases covered hopefully and i'll be good either way.
That reminds me... I've got an 18,000btu (most are 9,000btu) mobile a/c unit surplus to requirements now if anyone is interested.
How about predictions?
An anti-cyclone summer beast from the East super stinker.
or
An Atlantic in charge cool wishy washathon?
And plenty of thunder would be nice.

Or if one of you hasn't converted your Nest account to a Google account - it will turn off the heating when you leave your wife at home. Not my problem...

After a grey and miserable summer in East Anglia last year I'm hoping
praying predicting a repeat of 2019.
Weeks and weeks of dry, sunny days with temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
Sorry Colin.
Yep, bloody lovely in Suffolk today. Spent the afternoon sitting in the garden enjoying the warmth. Weeks and weeks of dry, sunny days with temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
Sorry Colin.

Sunniest, warmest March ever?
Nah I reckon 2020 was the best most recently, and 2011 this week (18th-25th) was absolutely glorious. What was the weather March 2020 UK?
Great Uncle Google says:
"March started with six days of fairly cold, bright weather with some showers and occasional longer spells of rain. It turned milder and more unsettled from the 7th to 19th, with rain belts frequently crossing the country, interspersed with brighter showery weather."
That aside, it must be some kind of record breaker to have no rain and almost two weeks of warm sunny days in March. Some of the ground here is dried out, I saw someone's lawn sprinkler in action yesterday.
Normal March rainfall is 55 - 65mm, we've had none so far.
Lots of people predictably predicting there will be a sting in the tail with 'snowbombs' storm and monsoons to come, but we'll see.
