I’ll be moving it slightly at the weekend as it’s on a fence post and I think it’s getting some radiant heat from the fence (west facing and dark brown).

I’m also in a bit of a hollow, so a couple of degrees variance from that “official” status isn’t to be unexpected.

SCORCHA !

Chesterfield'ish -

Just got back from a cycle ride along abandoned and re-purposed mining railway lines.

The Garmin showed 23.5c

Not what I was expecting, it is all a bit deja-voooo-eee from the time I used to live down South.

Another scorcha, hottest day of the year and not a single post.

And, where is everyone?

Glorious weather yesterday, today and for the next few days in NE Suffolk.

Very warm in the sunshine, a bit chilly in a breeze.

I have a nasty scar courtesy of those rocks (and overconfidence in my ability to jump between them)

Sorry, Colin. I was engaging in lots of beer and gin. Today I’m feeling a little dusty.

I can’t imagine they’re particularly forgiving!

FFS! Spectacular weekend (and a bank holiday too...) and had a few BBQs, but got the smoker up and running today for the first time this year and the sky's turned ominous and rain alarm has pinged. irked

I was skiing a few weeks ago at the exact same time the UK had that heatwave, and now I've just got back from 5 days in Tenerife over Easter and seems I've missed more good UK weather!

Bloody BBQ has barely been used yet.

I’ve been in Whitby since Good Friday and the weather has been - visually - lovely. But blimey the breeze or anywhere exposed to the wind is absolutely freezing.

Rode my bicycle back from Scarborough today with Mrs DS in blazing sun and I was wearing more layers than I would be in the depths of winter.

Cracking very long weekend here. Took the kids up to Reading Weds and Thurs, gardening Friday/Sat, friends over for BBQ Sat, went up to London Sun, family over on Mon, put the kids on a train to Devon yesterday and then lots of DIY.

Still no rain here - garden is gasping for it and my butts are empty for various reasons (moving, new ones, filling new pond).

Moving forward - high pressure and warmth for a return is the form horse.

Isn't that the standard outcome every year now? Seems it's been like that for as long as I can remember. Good May/June, dreadful July/August?

Yep - totally standard.

Just had a lovely walk around the village - was a cold morning, but it's scorchio out of the wind.
