Does anyone know if there's a UK-only thread?
7 months, I guess it’s your first full winter thread? You’ll pretty quickly get to know our three or four regular US posters, I wouldn’t get stressed about it.
I like hearing about bonkers weather in North America, makes a change.

Thankfully there isn't one as it would just be a few boring posts about grey and wet weatherIt's great to hear how others around the world get their winter weather.

Yeah I moaned about it once, but it’s actually interesting to hear
I could not disagree more. I am puzzled why on a the UK-centric forum anyone would care that it's cold and snowing in some backwaters of the USA and Canada 4000 miles away that nobody has even heard of never mind been to. The twice daily posts between the two of them which completely take over the thread appear to be nothing more than a bragging contest over who can out-do the other one with the greater number of cms of snow.I guess it wouldn’t be PistonHeads if someone didn’t disagree
In weather news, looks like warm and wet is hanging around for a while, and I’m not unhappy about that at all! The hosepipe ban has just been lifted here in Hampshire by Southern Water, I don’t know how much of that was from the rain and how much of that was from people ignoring it…

I find your moaning about it far worse, but we all have our crosses to bear. r3g said:

I’ve been to Colorado - briefly in Denver where Jimmy is and also into the Rockies where Bertie patrols.Just chill out and skim over the posts that don’t interest you. Virtually every thread on PH has stuff that won’t interest everyone.

I’m with you 100%. I’m not that easily annoyed, especially on the internet, but this properly winds me up as I find it so distracting. I commented on it last year.
I don’t understand why we don’t have a UK only thread as i would have thought most of us are here for Puggit’s fantastic interpretation in laymen’s terms from the weather forums what might be on the way and then quite exciting to see reports from around the county what people are experiencing and what we might experience.
But equally I don’t understand why they would want to post about their local weather in a UK forum. I cant imagine how empty my life would need to be to log into one of their local forums and let them know it’s been a bit drizzly in Glasgow today!
No offence intended, live and let live, I just genuinely don’t get it.

The American posts are annoying and should have their own thread, but hey, you get used to it (being annoyed at their irrelevance!).
But then, does anyone give a st what the weather is where I live? Not really.
I once stood by the Western Wall (AKA The Wailing wall) in Jerusalem, watched countless and continuous numbers of people stand against it, prey and push paper notes into the cracks before walking off.
This thread (and many others like it) is a lot like that - ultimately pointless, but still we do it.
Visit, post up, walk away.
Complete waste of time.
Sorry

Hearing from various types banging on about who is, and who is not, allowed to contribute to the thread...not liking that so much.....but such is their entitlement to do so, within the PH parish rules.

Having spent many happy summer and winter days in Steamboat Springs, I for one like hearing from Colorado residents about their weather.

I'd much prefer to hear the travails of our poor, benighted Colonials and their ridiculously random weather to some post by a UK based durr-brain, who believes that writing
'It's really cold here today'
without having the wit to understand that no one else on the thread knows where the fk 'here' is is any use to anyone other than themselves.
