Bloody cars these days, too clever for their own good. Fortunately, my old Jag has been very reliable, it did however throw up an ABS fault some time ago. I took it to a trusty specialist who duly informed me I had a cannabis problem:

"Cannabis? Barking up the wrong tree there, old boy, I don't use the stuff"

"No, not cannabis, canbus. Anyway, it's fixed now, it was just a poor earth"

Thank the Lord.

Anyhow, we're off up to Mundesley today.

One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
We fried some streaky bacon
And cooked a bit of toast...

Do vicars wear trousers? confused I thought they wore cassocks or smocks or robes or frocks or summink.

Gude Moaning my little fruit bats! wavey

This morning's Elbow Test performed with a plum aplombe, and turned out to be negatory. Which is a good result, all things considered.
The weather here oop norf just sarf of Trivchester is a murky grey colour, with not much brightness, and five fewer centipedes less not showing.
This means cooler air, a denser charge, and hence more power for Dicky in his ICE-powered Howdy-Doody. God Speed, Dicky, and watch out for all the eedjits.
Safe journey mate.
This long range grandparenting business should be tax deductible and paid at double the standard rate at weekends, with mileage allowance on the old dicky ticker on top.
Lucky fur us the gibberment have promised 30 hours free childcare per week in September 2025 after they've been voted out.

Ah well, time for my capsule. wobble

Seems like a wee while ago - first become aware of this in 1980 - was 14 turning 15, a lifetime ago.

Oh! You should have said? I have a set of high drawlic car ramps which raiseses one's motor, with ease, to perform such tinkering from beneath, and much more, should the urge be upon you.
That's kind, pq, I'll remember that. Trouble is, by the next time I need to raise a car to comfortable working height I'll have been banned from any form of physical activity for my wellbeing.

I'm thinking of making the Audi respectable instead of buying something to replace it. Me tinkering and capable professionals doing real work on the car may the way to go. The engine warning light has been on most of the time since I bought it. Four different garages attempted to sort it out but I decided to save money and run it with light on until the car expired. Four years later it soldiers on. The MoT tester tuts, couples up his electrickery, turns the light off, and issues the MoT. The light comes on again almost immediately. It's a 2005 A4 Avant 1.8T quattro with 110,000 miles on it that's worth about £3.65 on a good day. It may be worth saving.
Worth getting a cheap tester to do it yourself, or take the bulb out?
The mechanic yesterday said he thinks it's a rogue sender which is also causing a weird bit of uneven running. I can be driving along steadily and the power will drop off. Press the accelerator and the power comes back. He thinks a rogue sender, that is not specifically identified in the codes, is sending random signals to the engine management which reacts to the signal. It may also be the cause of the engine light being illuminated.

He does like a project. He took on my thoroughly worn out A4 Avant quattro Tdi and has nursed it to 245,000 miles so far. He has proposed we swap cars and he'll work through the problems on my car if I promise not to trash his.

Mechanical Sympathy is my middle name. Are my middle names. In addition to my actual middle name. among my middle names are... I'll come in again.
I have a cheap reader then a full bluetooth one to an app on my phone that can interrogate everything.

A belated good morneve everybody!

Belated on account of my getting up early and making the best of this beautiful morning with a trip to Lymington, a long walk and a return journey via Beaulieu (not a donkey to be seen, they're definitely up to something), Exbury and Lepe, where a shark has recently washed up on the beach. An eight-footer, complete with teef, and lots of them.

See: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-65...

Didn't stand a chance against the locals, though.

Days like this remind me of how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful part of this septic isle.

I'd better start lunch preparations. Freshly baked rolls, avec sausages. Yum.

More later. Possibly. If I can avoid the sharks.

I've been watching videos about Mustangs.....
That way lies madness Bobbers, I've been perusing all sorts of classic Mustang stuff on youyube these past few weeks and it's making my head spin, a lot! Unless you mean the P-51 version that makes even more noise, in which case crack on. Once the Maser and the Cooper have found new homes I'm hoping to bag a '65 to '68 hardtop or fastback, preferably the latter but some of them are silly money now. Something like this would tickle my fancy...

Prices vary wildly but there are plenty about, parts are easily available and they are easy to upgrade / modify in whatever way you like. A big bonus is that they'll fit a typical UK garage wink

My eldest brother is called Richard George Magoo!
But we call him George and so does everyone else!

One of my late sisters was called Ethel Jean.
But we called her Jean and so did everyone else.

I have another brother called Thomas John
But we call him John and so does everyone else.

I could go on as there are many more examples in my family!

Bloody Paddys eh! Crazy like.

Stunning, but not only out of my price range, but not suitable as a daily, I've been looking at the sixth gen cars, 2016 onwards.

yes, facelifted in late 2018, I can't do anything about buying one until I finish paying for Peanut, so probably not until 2026, but hopefully I'll be able to pick up one around a 2020 plate then!!!

beer

I've been looking at them lately too, the local Ford dealer usually has one or two out front that have been traded in, still getting my head around the different specs, Mrs.P5B is keen on them which helps. I've flirted with the older Mustangs several times and the urge hasn't gone away, in fact the pull is stronger than some of the Italian stuff I go for, especially the '67 / '68 incarnations. This has a lot to do with the music I listen to as well.

Round and round we go!
